I have only been to a couple meets with these guys, so I don't know them all that well. I remember hearing from one guy how he was getting brake fade from racing between stoplights in his E36 M3 (w/ teh M50 Manifoldz!!1!!) that he was still making payments on. Real smart.

Bishop's right. I know at least one of the BMW guys from local sonic meets....and this doesn't surprise me. This was posted on our local forum, so I'm actually surprised the video made it here.

Here's the story, for those interested:

So there is a local kid who bought an EVO 8.. err maybe mommy and daddy did. But anyway, he thinks it's the fastest thing on the planet (Manual Boost Controller at 15PSI, and full exhaust). He claims to have beat 2 Z06's, a ZR1, and an F360. A friend of mine called BS and showed up one night in his Z06. After much haggling, we got him to do a run (Even though he claims his clutch is gone... He still wanted to go from a dig). So obviously from a dig he got the launch until about 40MPH when he "Missed 4th" err, I mean the Z06 finally hooked up. He completely denies any defeat and still claims to have beaten the Z06.

So tonight we showed up with a wide selection of cars for him to choose from to race so the kid would finally shut up. He could choose from 996TT, Viper GTS, Supra, Ford GT, LS7 GTO etc.

The night the Viper, Supra, etc showed is the night the video's from.

For what it's worth, I haven't been to any of their meets for a looooong time now. Kinda hard to from across the ocean.
