This is a thread for those of us who have a heart to share our stories of where we were and how it affected our lives.
This thread is to show support and compassion to the American citizens who lost their lives from this tragic event. REGARDLESS of who did it!

I was at work when someone told me to look out the window...just then I saw a news headline which read WTC on fire. We ran to the window to see....we were in disbelief. A co worker and I decided to go outside and take a better look. Our office was about 4 blocks away. While we were watching the first one on fire…. From our vantage point we saw just the explosion from the second one everyone in the street ran for cover. At this point there was confirmation that the first was the result of an airplane and news was spreading that the second was also an airplane. At first we could not believe how two planes could fly into the towers. We went back into the office with the faintest idea of how the world had just changed. Reports of the pentagon came in… we could not believe it. Co workers were banging on walls with their fists crying, people were desperately trying to get in touch with families letting them know we were okay or trying to check in with people we knew who worked in the buildings. The company advised everyone to stay in our building as transit to lower Manhattan was shut down and we had no idea what was going on or if there were going to be any more attacks.
After a while we heard a rumble… everyone ran for cover. We thought it was another airplane flying low overhead the windows went black….we realized one of the towers fell….. I think we all know how the rest played out.
As Anthony said… there was no talking on the streets that day. Store owners were handing out water and soda to the people walking home, people across the city opened their doors to strangers who needed to use the bathroom or needed to sit down while on the walk uptown. A big city like New York never felt so small and I hope we are never in a situation to warrant this.
I walk by the WTC every day on my way to work…… I see tourists taking pictures outside the site. When I see them standing there and smiling in photos I imagine following them home to find out where their family is buried so that when they go to the grave yard they can see me standing there posing, smiling taking pictures where their family or friends are laid to rest.Leave a comment:

I was leaving my house to walk to school and my parents were watching it on the news but I didn't really realize the significance of it.
I got into my 6th grade core class and the teacher said something about it, but he went on with the class as scheduled.

I was in 10th grade as well and the first plane hit as I was walking to A-hour. I had no idea until I actually got to class just what was going on. Everyone was glued to the TV in my class, and we all thought that a plane had accidentally collided with the tower. That was of course until the second plane hit.

I suggest you check the movie "Traitor" which sees all three sides of Muslim terrorism. Just for entertainment BTW. And to be taken with a grain of salt. It's only a movie.
