reminds me of the oxy/acetaline bomb we used to make at work

or the 3 liter bottle dry ice bombs (use rubbing alcohol so it doen't freeze around the dry ice)

    fun times!

What kind of sparkler did you guys use? The one with rainbow wrapping or the grey metallic looking one?

I'd love to post the picture of the 19-something year old guy that is sitting on the ground next to a car battery and some wire, with both hand blow off past the wrist - with his fore-arm bones sticking out and nothing else there - his hands are just gone. But, then you guys might call me debbie downer.

WOW I did this like 2 months ago. The bomb was bigger then a normal size champagne bottle. We let it right down the road at a park.... we were expecting like a baby boom u know something like a big fire cracker would do..... but no it was a BOOM that shook the whole neighborhood like car alarms were going off,the house windows shook really bad. I was shitting bricks when 4 fire truck came looking for what went off.

i know two teenage kids who died from a sparkler bomb. They were placing a 55gal drum over the bomb, and the fuse burned much faster than they expected, and they both died of neck and chest lacerations, one died on the spot, and one died on the way to the hospital.

Made me never want to make a sparkler bomb again, and i won't.

My cousin and his friends had one in a grocery store parking lot they had just made, they weren't going to light it there, just showing it to another friend. Bomb squad showed up and they got felonious bomb making charges. gg

tamping a charge with a big metal drum is basically creating a shrapnel-making device... not a great idea, whether or not you've done the fuse right.

I would not be surprised at all. Look at the OP's video. His was on top of the metal bucket thing and it shrapnelled it. Imagine how much worse it would be with the acceleration of the metal happening at the rate of the explosion.

What a mental video that was. Pure luck you didn't get hit.

A few years ago we put a 20 pack one in a microwave and got back about 100metres. Turned the microwave inside out and threw bits all the way to our feet.

                                Haven't made one since. dodgy.
