Cheers to the demise of purples.

Well I was having a great day today. Work was slowish. Lunch was above par. I even got out about an hour early. All was going great until my drive home.

I was driving my shitbox winter beater Ranger, as I just sold my E30. That is sort of a useless fact because my E30 was in pieces not running when I sold it anyways. Back to the story. As I signaled to turn onto my street, slowing steadily, I noticed the jeep behind me wasn't adjusting speed. As I started to turn I glanced in my mirror once more and saw she was coming full speed at the ass of my truck. I leaned back into my seat, held on tight to the wheel and she hit me full on at 45mph. My truck spun 360 degrees total. The tires caught when it was sideways and it rolled once, still spinning upside down mind you. It landed right side up in the yard about 3 houses away from mine. When the truck rolled 7 of 8 windows in the truck broke sending shards of shiny death all over my truck and I caught a bit behind the ear. I bumped my head on my seat and slit open my ear. Aside from that I am unscathed. Paramedics checked me out on the scene and said I didn't need stitches.

I am without a truck and any mode of transport. The truck was purple and a little rusty, but it ran like a champ and the interior was clean. Hopefully this ladies insurance doesn't fuck with me on paying out for this. I only had liability on my truck because I don't give a fuck about it. Worst part is that I had planned on picking up another bimmer here in the next couple of weeks, but now I may have to wait until spring as I am now in need of a daily.

    On to the goods...

Where the cruiser on the right is parked is where I was when I realized I was fucked.

Why didn't you stomp on it and try and move forward out of the way instead of just taking the hit?

Yikes! I do hope you're alright. As a precaution you should go see a doctor (if you haven't already). Sometimes injuries from an accident won't surface for a while. As for the motorist that hit you, her insurance carrier shouldn't even jack you around for one minute. A rear-ending like this puts the fault squarely on her shoulders. Don't let them jack you around.

Yeah paramedics checked me out, I really didn't flop around a lot because I was expecting the impact and had my seatbelt on. If I have any neck pains or beyond gnarly headaches I will be going in to the ER.

I just think it was a general lack of attention. I didn't see her driving all I saw was her grill and PEEJ haha. She didn't mention a cell phone but it wouldn't be surprising. Lady thought she killed me haha.

Dude its a '93 ranger. Flooring it involves a whole lot of noise and little result. I was already dedicated to the turn when she struck me. In hindsight I would have tried to take it straight on, but I wasn't given the opportunity to choose how I was hit haha.

All she said she didn't see me, I really don't know how though. Its a fucking loud-ass rusty purple eyesore, not really hard to miss. I am paying attention to my vitals though and if anything comes up I will get checked right away. I already know tomorrow will result in a rad headache and I already informed my employer I will be missing work.

+1 As someone who just got rear ended 2 weeks ago at roughly the same speed as your accident, you are going to have some sore muscles around your neck and shoulder in a day or two. Make sure you go and see the doctor and let the insurance know.

Just found out today my 08 Tacoma is totaled. Had less than 12000 miles on it. :(

I hate that feeling you get a split-second before it happens, good thing you braced up just in time. Glad to see you came out in one piece.

Damn I am sorry to hear that. I was actually considering picking up a Tacoma, love those trucks. Financially it would probably keep me out of a Bimmer though so I voted against it.

I am covered on the injury front though as my mother works for our insurance provider. She won't allow them to fuck around. Like I said, if anything comes up other than regular soreness I am going in. I notified the insurance of my accident and what few injuries I have. Hopefully nothing else comes up.

I was actually looking at an e28 and a couple of e30s. This throws a wrench in the gears though as I will have to concentrate on finding a new DD. I won't put a nice car through a MN winter. Fucking salt will destroy a car in one season.

damn sorry to hear that. Like my dad always told me, if you have time to think and react like some have suggested then there shouldn't be an accident.

I sure hope you dont end up with any hidden injuries. here is to a speedy recovery and lots of luck with the insurance getting a fair settlement and finding another DD!
