An amazing build takes a bad turn...

I've been following this thread closely for a long time now. He does some amazing work using the best he can get. I haven't read it for a few weeks and yesterday when I got caught-up the turn of events felt like a gut blow....

See the middle of page 45.

I was really getting engrossed in his M54b30 intake vs euro S50 intake comparison.

I read the thread on bf.c

He should acid dip the chassis and start over.

Was weird the dual duty this car did though, wasn't quite a track car, wasn't quite a drag car, still, some awesome fabrication, certainly gave me motivation to go the extra mile in my projects!

That's got to be the worst feeling ever to look at that car after all that work.

At least he's still alive. That looks like it was a pretty insane fire.

If he posted that on here he'd have 3 offers for the headers before he ever left the hospital.

losing the car in that fashion does suck, a lot.

however, waking up in the burn ward probably involves a bit more heavy thinking than "i wonder how the car is doing".

Man that sucks to see. After pouring in so much time and effort into a car he was passionate about only to have it catch fire is a real bummer.

I think the fire was caused by forgetting to turn on the fuel pump for nitrous enrichment. Car ran lean, cracked some exhaust valves.

On the next run, the pumps was turned ON, but the bad exhaust valve caused an explosion in the airbox that severed the fuel injectors from the line.

                      Really unfortunate sequence of events.

I'm sure I could do the same thing if I had a dedicated fuel pump for my Nox!

Read it on BFC as well, interesting to see his latest posts/pics showing the engine internals after the damage was done.

wow, a good reminder to those of us that track our cars to keep safety a #1 priority. the loss of the car is very unfortunate, but loss of life would have been far worse. i hope the car gets rebuilt!
Now look, I am not evil. My loan officer said so.
