Last night I was on a country road in my E30 coming back from my girlfriend's house. I came around a turn and onto a straight, going about 50 (a little excessive I'm sure), but all of a sudden a huge deer jumps out into the road about 15 yards or something in front of me. I slammed my brakes and came about 6 inches from mashing into this sucker.
That was a big wake up call to slow it down at night on that road. Also, my E30 just gained a lot of fricken points with me. I never knew the brakes were that good. I think it has the Turner rotor/pad kit as well as SS lines, and the blue brake fluid (sorry I don't know the name. Anyway, these cars continue to impress me. It probably saved my life last night.

deer are absolutely batshit crazy at night with respect to cars
my son was driving in his 2002 at night near our home when a deer he saw on the side of the road about 50yards ahead decided at the last moment to try and center punch his car as he drove by
he had his window down and he had to lean into the passenger seat to avoid being headbutted by the charging deer
he stopped and looked in the mirror to see the deer, which had been knocked down by the impact, slowly get up and make it to the other side of the road

Fucking big ass deers man!!! I would totally want to stop and take my bat out of the trunk if I wasn't thinking clearly.....but I still think that deer would have the upper hand!

It dont matter how fast or slow you go, a deer will still end up hitting your car or truck sometime in life. Even if the car is at a stop...

Ive never hit a deer and have grown up around rural areas and spent a lot of time there. thank god.

no damage, but the deer was a buck w/horns

this was shortly after i hit a deer coming home in the dark in the e36 325ic we owned
fucking deer came out of the brush out of nowhere. i had barely time to mash the brakes before i hit it.
and it was like the twighlight zone sort of. the deer was spinning on its side slowly pulling ahead of my car as i stood on the brakes. if i can describe this, the deer was spiraling/sliding ahead of my car from the impact but i was slowing down faster than the deer's slide was slowing down. it was just a wierd experience in the dark with my headlights on the deer. by the time i stopped the waffleswaffleswaffles was about 30ft in front of me.
$3000 in damage.
luckily i didn't wash the car. the insurance adjuster said they need proof i hit the deer, and there was still hair and some blood in the front grill. i guess up here in the great PNW this is a common insurance scam

same here luckily. nj is way too overpopulated with people and deer so they're always on the roads. my old e30 was loud as fuck so luckily most deer would run away from the noise when i was coming.

I once somehow managed to take 2 deer in the side of my 89 dakota one night going 15mph on an insanely foggy evening on a windy back mountain road...scared the living shit out of me.....one loud bang hit my bedside...then another in the passenger door.....I all but pist myself and I was utterly amazed the pass door window didn't break. Talking about shit luck...but ya deer in the road is no joke.

i nailed a deer in my e30, barely did anything to it

i was rolling at about 50 mph as well, saw the fucker coming out of the trees on the other side of the road, slammed on the brakes trying to dodge out of the way, but it ran back to the other side and i slid sideways into it

barley dented up the pass side fender, which i quickly replaced within like two days

haha i was screaming every curse word in the book at that thing right before i had hit it. called my buddy up the street, told him what happened. two secs later hes down there picking the thing up and throwing it in the back of his truck, absolutely hilarious

A deer ran into the side of my e36 when I was going about 40, not a scratch on her. My whole quarter panel was covered in grease though. The kid driving behind me said the thing just rolled, got up, and ran. Same thing happened to a buddy of mine in his integra, except he stopped, the thing gets up and rams the car twice.
