I am STILL looking for a nice E30, and I could be persuaded to get one in Schwarz, if SC*AR membership allows me a few extra extravagances that my regular E30 brethren don't have.

For example, one weekend per quarter in the luxurious SC*AR mountainside retreat in North Carolina, or exclusive use of the SC*AR lounge at Portland International Airport with free Wi-Fi. It's these little things that separate us from the unwashed masses.

Try talking to the prosicutor, he might be understanding. I've had all sorts of tickets droped or the fines made cheaper just by negotiating with them. First thing I'd try is just going in to the cleark and act like you just didn't have the sticker on, It seems like this has worked for me before.

My tags expired in February, and I was driving my car like that until last month. I didn't pass smog, and had to take care of a lot if things before I passed it, so every time they stopped me I just told them I'm going to the shop/smog place/dmv, so they always let me go.
However I too think this is just a money grab. Now in Cali you have to do a smog test to get new tags every year?! Thats about $100 dollars plus on top of everything else yearly, for nothing.
I got a new cat this year, lowering my emissions into almost sub-zero category. What on Earth could happen in one year that causes my car not be fit for street use? Srsly.
