                That one's chopped - weird.

                I have daydream-figured a very homemade one at minimum $20k to $25k.
Shell assuming no rust - 2500 to 5000
                Conversion / misc parts - 5000
                Used SC 3.0 engine - 5000
                "Cheap" paint job - 5000
                Labor - me

                oh wait....replica Fuchs and tires......$$$
                Exhaust .......................................$$$
                Interior redone in houndstooth.........$$$
                Rebuilt side-shifter trans..................$$$
                Nice suspension bits and reinforcing..$$$

So that 25k isn't going that far.

It doesn't really matter if you find a decent shell for free - the build is way more than the base car.

But yeah, wouldn't it be fun?

Porsche pics from Pelican Parts C&C this past weekend.

Loved this 914, had a 2.7 flat 6 that sounded amazing

912 with a STI motor. I chatted with this guy a while ago at a previous pelican c&c. It was nice to see it done.

I love Ruf cars, this isnt a real one, but it makes me warm and fuzzy in the right places

Not likely that this is a real 935, but wtf do I know?

And now, the reason I went.... The Brumos 935

Im with you, though I think at this point a long hood is out of the question due to cost, so being a CA resident, Ive been looking at a 74/75 to avoid smog laws. My personal dream is to build something like the red Ruf replica car. I wanted to take a pic of the interior, but the reflection from the window ruined the pic. It had RS panels and a gutted interior. Im sure its a blast to drive.

As far as the 918 or GT, I thought it was a GT but then started to second guess myself because well... I dont really care, its too big and too expensive for me

If all I had was my garage and didn't want to go nuts, I'd stick with a hopped up type IV. Way cheaper to maintain, remove, work on, etc.

Fake Fuchs are cheap. I'm hoping to get a few hundred for mine.

901/914 transmissions are super simple to rebuild; just buy two cores.

Suspension is probably the hardest part beyond doing body work.

I'd just make it lighter and try to keep the speed up. I say do it.

That really is a fantastic shape. From all sides. And a little bit of 911 in the haunches, roof, side windows.

They thing they never show in the photos and renderings is a sense of scale - I fear it may be a big car instead of the agile tight sedan it looks like. There's a big side shelf / rocker piece painted black to cut down it's visual height - I think that's where the battery packs fit under the floor.

And maybe a little too much taillight lens. The red could stop at that panel / spoiler cut line on either side and it would look good.
