After all these years, it still has that part-throttle howling sound I love.

And that flat-out 318k or whatever? That's nutty! - the Audi and Porsche P1s at Le Mans topped out at 320k on the Mulsanne this year.....

Then my buddy / ex-coworker sent me these of his '59 356. He's just replaced the floors, and is now working on the battery box. He drove it all over the deep south in college, across Texas, lived in SoCal for awhile, then the Great NW, then put it away tired. He said, "Once you get over the idea of hitting your Porsche with a hammer, it's pretty fun."

              Is this a Convertible D?

See, this is what I picture the 356's were meant to be, but now the pricing has turned them in to garage queens..

He said the welds are all over the place, none of them are straight.....this one done by Hans, that one by Walter, it's obviously hand made.

I've read that several times about Porsche factory welding, even the race cars - strong and quick, but we're not too worried about pretty.

BTW - I believe those are genuine and rare Rudge knock-off wheels....

'63 1600S coupe on Bring a Trailer. Pretty sweet. Not white, it's actually really light dove grey. I love the wider steelies with hub caps. Anyone know what the stock wheel width would be an a '63? Is that a Type 6 by '63?

                            Sits nice and low.

I think the OE steels were like 5.5" maybe less
