jebus, cornering hard enough to lift 2 wheels yet still flat as a board. must be some intense 'spension under that beast.

At the rate Porsches are appreciating, I need to buy a 993 within five years or I'm screwed.

Early turbo prices just skyrocketed also. What was a 30k car is now 130k.

Seriously though, anyone looking to buy an aircooled 911 should be getting on with it. The prices have already started climbing up a steep slope for all 911 models of that era.

                It's crazy time.

993 RS' are sitting around 200K Euro now. Boat has sailed on them sadly!

Edit: a red one came up for sale here (ex Japan) for $299K NZD, it sold in 6 days. Doubtless it's headed off to Europe :(

So, out of the blue - really - I have tripped on a 911 for sale. Nothing I would have considered, really. My son dropped me in his now-running E30 at our Audi shop to pick up parts. It's an independent import shop run by an old VW & Porsche mechanic. It is an authorized Audi service shop now. Used them for years for Audis, Volvos, etc.

Out front is a customer / consignment FS car. '76 MINTY green 911S. 122,000 mi. Original Fuchs, nice paint, no rust, perfect interior. But dear gawd, that green, and those bumpers!

Windshield sign says $13,500. Seriously. No dents. Shiny paint. Sunroof. Clean.

I went back in to ask whose car it is, thinking it's an old customer or something. Probably a 2.7 with bad studs and they just want to move it.

NO! It's the OWNER'S car. Had it forever (or at least 1976), and he's a Porsche mechanic - it's not gonna have bad head studs. I've seen beautiful 356s in this shop regularly.

So, my question to you guys is - is this a crazy deal, or just a reasonable price for one of the less desirable years? I've told friends for years, don't buy a 76-77 2.7, get an early long hood or a later 3.0 SC.

                          WHAT DO I DO?!
                          (PS...my wife would shoot me)

74-77 cars are underrated. Seems like a good deal.

74 -77 r underrated..and they were never loved.....but they r beginning to move upwards as the 911 is red hot right now.

if this car has a really good history, and owned by a p car wrench, then consider it!!!!!

you can always "backdate" it and do a 2.7 rs style engine build and have your self a euro rs style car......

it will continue to have value.

13.5?...he'll take 12 I bet. You cant touch a bad e or t for twice that.

                              I bought a 70 T in 2006 for 12k..mint..and folks said I got raPED..NOW?.ITS OVER 40K....
I love sitting down and just driving!
