Wow this has degraded into childish behavior in the usual r3v fashion!

First of all e30=sexy, you need to really stop telling people to stfu. that's pathetic and just because you're not at work doesn't mean you still don't represent the company. I worked for Sprint for 3 years and my dad has been working with them for 10, no way in hell any of my or his bosses would be happy to hear about either of us talking shit to customers.

Ryan, I don't know what went wrong with your buddy's Pre but I think he got stuck with the short end of the stick. I've had a Pre since over a month before they were released, which I expected to have bugs but haven't had a single problem, it's actually the one phone I haven't heard of many issues with the exception of the super small keyboard that I don't like.

I laugh when I hear people complain about cheap phones ($150 or less), the fact is they are cheap for a reason and most of the stuff you all are complaining about are problems found in a solid 50% of all phones offered by every phone company. I don't care who you're with, ATT, Verizon, Sprint, TMobile etc, at least half of their selection is going to be bugged out, slow, defective, whatever (Ever heard of Windows Mobile 6.1???). Ask anyone at any company, you'll get an honest answer from someone who isn't looking just to make a buck, why do you think everyone pushes you to get repair insurance????

We all agree the Instinct was a disaster, I hated that phone, I didn't even like the S30, and I'm not convinced the HD will be any better, the Java OS is just too underdeveloped. Although I will say that the voicemail system on the Instinct was the best system I have encountered yet, it was amazing!

Ryan, "the hero seems sketch"??? Clearly you haven't actually used, seen or even researched the phone. MicroSD expandable memory allows for remote installation of software, which is why the internal memory is suited specifically for the OS. It happens to be why it comes with a MicroSD card. word is you shouldn't listen to hearsay. Personally I don't like the virtual keyboard or the angled bottom that the hero shares with the G1, not my style.

Last thing, who on earth buys cell phone accessories (besides batteries) from the company??? Even when I worked there I told clients to go somewhere else for that shit, I make commission off of phone sales, accessories is little to nothing. Yeah I agree the 15% "discount" is bullshit but you shouldn't be looking for that stuff there in the first place. Having seen both the Commercial and retail side of Sprint, I do think it treats its long time customers unfairly as far as discounts. But then again ATT, Verizon and everybody else doesn't do much better.

Ive been with Sprint forever since when their only service area was in San Diego in the mid-late 90s. I still have the pioneer plan where I just pay like 30 cents every minute but theres no monthly charges. That phone is hooked up to my mom's carphone. THeir service isn't horrible well atleast I've been treated alright. But the perks has slowly been getting taken away. Ok no one cares so I'll shutup now.
I care. This is why sprint came out with customer appreciation stuff. For people like you. People that have been with them forever. You have a great rateplan that they definately dont offer anymore. Yea new people that have been with the company for 6 months get a discount too, but there not getting the rateplan like you.

      For other posts:
My boss isnt Tony Mass and if you were the person that called today, well then you have to much time on your hands.
You know what i started this thread to see if anyone on here has got an android phone. And then people have to be like oh sprint is crappy. I have been with sprint for a long time and if they dont come out with better phones then i will go somewhere else, i will tell you what my boss tells people like you. I'm sorry you feel that way. If you cant find what you want or like then go to Verizon/ Tmobile or who ever has what it is your looking for because i cant change it. And as for my job security with Sprint losing all the customers and all Our store is doing more this year than last year and the numbers arnt dropping. So i feel pretty safe. And telling existing customers to stfu your not even in our state. If you come in my store i would be more than happy to help you find the right phone. In our town our store is probably the most friendly. Even tho were not a service center or corporate store we will help you the most we can weather its finding you a new phone, helping you with a problem your phone is having, bill related issues. But if you come in our store saying oh Sprint sucks the phones suck the customer care sucks (which i will agree on the phone customer care sucks) well then im sorry why are you still with this company. No one makes you sign the two year agreements.

Again, apparently my buddy didnt just get the short end of the stick. We have another regular poster (how big of a sample is that?) with a friend who has had silly issues with the phone and the internal screen cracking AND the slider issues have been repeatedly documented. Not to mention it feels like a loose POS.

Proof that you can install to the SD because I was hitting up reviews and that was the hit that most say. Also with the current shortcomings of the platform I would only consider an android phone if I was certain it could handle later releases.

Nobody buys accessories from them. We were making fun of the "thank you" for being a long time customer. Youd figure they wouldnt just do the same as everyone else seeing as how they are bleeding off whole cities of subscribers a quarter, especially since you are famous for the shittiest customer service of all the providers. Guess all of those people are wrong and you are right.

As for $150 phone. Nobody here is talking about a $150 phone. Not one of the phones discussed is $150. You read too many brochures. The phones are $500, discounted $200 IF you sign a 2 year contract and you get a $150 mail in rebate IF you sign a 2 year contract. $150 isnt the real price of the phone. Every provider is taking a $350 hit to lock you into a $2000 contract.

So the real cost of the phone is $2150 (if you get that rebate back). That is a lot of a commitment and "as good as" the others isnt enough to make it worthwhile. And "as good as" is debatable given that Sprint is bleeding phone lines like mad (and the Verizon/ATT is gaining the same number of people so its not like they are going back to land lines). Sprint lost 600k people this last quarter and is only being propped up by Boost, which is for broke asses with no credit, and lost a million before that.

Im from KC, we got to see the play-by-play death of Sprint's wireless service.
        Im now E30less.

          Okay Fagg Boy!!!!
You obviously are retarded & need to find a better hobby than bashing a company that you belong to!!! You know whats funny is we do not twist your arm to make you sign the 2 year agreement. Your probably on your Mommy's wireless account and cant afford to go on your own. That or your too young to get one yourself. Guess what!!! Find another carrier that can match Sprints pricing. As, far as the $2150 your still retarded!!! Where do you get those figures when you can easily cancel your line for $200 or cheaper. You need to do some more research before you start talking shit.... Boost is nothing to this company.. even if it supported us at all, we do not sell it in every store!!! You would think something that ran this company would be sold everywhere... hmmm.. Once you become a rep & know what your talking about...then come play with the big dogs!!!! Until then... STFU!!!!

That premier deal and everything they try kinda sucks. I mean its better than nothing but we used to get customized business cards with our new phone numbers and everything I remember when everyone got 50 dollar international calling cards when they signed up. I have a decent plan but I need to get someone's old SERO plan.

You should watch out with this internet stuff though. Theres people thats been fired, sued and tons arrested because of what they put up on Myspace, forums etc.

Does your friend have insurance? I know it is a bitch to go down there all the time but I when I worked at HomeDepot my phones used to get destroyed from the dust or I'd drop it from the ladders and everything so I used to have to go in there every other month and always got a free replacement no problem, not a bad deal for 7 bucks a month or whatever it is now; they keep raising the price.

customized business cards? like the person that sold it to you. If so we do that here. And for customer service After sending a handwritten thankyou note i had a guy call today and aplogize of how rude he was to me the day i sold him the phone. As for the perks stuff im pretty sure you also get the choice of 50 bonus mins or a free ringtone. Yea they stuff they give you isnt much but it is something. The one thing our store is is friendly. People come in complaining about the other store they have been in the people they have dealt with. Just another thing to add on here is that previously the guy said like 2000 for a phone which is unrealistic in our store we send in the rebates so you are guranteed to get your mail-in rebate and yes we hve had some rejected and we call and make sure the customer gets the money coming to them. There was nothing on here in the first place to get crappy about its was all over seeing if anyone had a new android phone. The whole mood changes when 1 guy decides to stir the pot

This thread has turned into a downward spiral and I didn't read any of the third page, but I got my HTC Hero a few days early through Best Buy Rewards to replace my lame-ass two year old LG Muziq.

It is absolutely great. Finally, finally Sprint has something worthwhile besides Windows Mobile crap. The phone puts my father's Palm Pre to shame, and I couldn't be happier with it in any aspect. Visual voicemail is awesome, the browser works great (and you can load a page, go back to home screen, open another app, and come back to the browser will have fully loaded a page...let's see your iPhone do that!).

Some of the Android applications are pretty amazing too. There's one where if I lose my phone, and it's on silent, I can send a certain phrase (i.e. Where is my phone!?) and it will automatically turn the ringer on the highest setting and ring for 1 minute to 5 minutes.

You're right, we have 2 people here who actually own the phone and haven't had a problem with it and we have 2 people who know someone who owns the phone and it's failed miserably.

Go into a store, pick up the phone and work through it, actually use it and then come back and talk to me, otherwise drive up to DC and I'll show you myself. You're also gonna need to ask one of the employees to use a MicroSD card in the phone first, when I worked there we always left them in the box so people couldn't steal them. And it's Prove not Proof.

HAHA! If you are buying a company sold phone at full price then you are the most brilliant person on earth. Unless you're buying a phone like an unlocked Sony Xperia or the like, no average person is going to be buying these phones at full price. With 2yr contract, which is what everyone gets in order to afford the phone, they're anywhere between 99 to 200 dollars.

You clearly associate the cost of the phone as a sole buy and has nothing to do with the network. I assume that you're going to be using the data network for all these phones? Well let's examine the situation here, Sprint as reported by Reuters, Wall Street Journal, Wired Magazine, and various others possesses the largest and most reliable 3G network in the US, Followed by Verizon, Followed by TMobile, then AT&T. Download and Upload Speeds on all platforms, WM6, Android, Palm and Blackberry (iPhone excluded but only based on exclusivity to ATT) are rated the Highest on the Sprint Network. Sprint is also the only company that provides Full 4G data coverage in 17 major markets. Oh and that amazing iPhone that I know you'll talk about, the one with less than 30% of owners that have 3G capability, BOTH of AT&T's data networks, 3G and Edge, are failing due to the network's inability to process the subscriber load, despite the company spending tens of millions to purchase major bandwidth frequencies (700Mhz) from the US government over a year ago! So Congrats you're more people with an even smaller network!

So you're right, "as good as" or better doesn't make it worth while because you don't like 100% of the phones that are offered. I'm glad that AT&T and Verizon offer their entire line of phones with absolutely no flaws or issues whatsoever. I'm humbled by Verizon who was just rated as the company with the WORST cell phone selection. I'm humbled by AT&T who has a data network that is falling apart at the seams.

I love being able to walk into a Verizon service center last week with a friend and be told that her phone is not covered under their insurance plan because they don't cover the "flip" on the flip phone, so she had to buy a new phone at the 1yr contract price and renew a 2yr contract. Wow what a great company!! It's horrible that I can walk into my sprint service center and have my phone fixed or replaced for FREE for whatever reason and have it back in my hands in a few hours or less (depending on the repair volume for the day and barring water damage, which goes through another branch of the company to replace your phone, once again, for FREE). Wow what a horrible company Sprint is!

Alright I'm done with my rant. Back to the original purpose of the thread!
