Make me appreciate the bed I sleep in while on the road. I bitch after a 26 hour day if I don't get some decent quarters. Guess I will have to keep the sleeping in a hole as a screen saver to remind me that Manas in a Conex box is not that bad.

Though getting a SA 7 shot at me yesterday was not fun at 5K feet and saying oh shit as it just barely missed the jet. Gotta love flares.

i always liked watching the rotaries drop flare when they came into ramadi (no strip, just a pad, anything on a fixed had to come over from al taquaddim).

and i was very lucky to land in a place in iraq that we'd been occupying for 2 years, rather than some just-established FOB in afg. no, a real mattress inside a conex doesn't actually suck that much.
