forza is fun, but it will never top gran turismo. i will always be a fan of the GT series, ive been playing it since i got the first GT when i was 11, loved it ever since

anyone have a first hand experience of prologue versus forza 3?

Looks nice, its a shame that they wont have all cars with interiors. Id be willing to wait another year from the planned release date if they have all cars with cockpits. also it needs more cars 800 isnt enough, 2500 would be better. and more tracks to 35 insnt enough 100 unique tracks each with its respective variants so more loke 300 total including reverse and variants.

old rumors. 800 cars is plenty... it is the cars they choose that needs improving. i hope they don't pull the crap they did with gt3 and 4 where you get like 20 skylines (or silvias, imprezas... input japanese sports car here) that are exactly the same... the only difference being the year. also, no one cares about driving a base model suzuki that isnt even sporty at all. i think youd be hardpressed to come up with 2500 cars that make sense for a racing game.

as for tracks, 35 locations is pretty damn good (compared to forza with about 20). i would prefer they get more "real" tracks instead of their own created tracks, but whatever. i think they should have the top gear test track :nice:

Will it support modifications like forza does?

gt was the first game to have a robust modding system as far as i know- a realistic one at least.

Forza you can do swaps, FI, and NA.

Hopefully you can do the same with gt5.

yes you will be able to, depending on the car. they haven't had swaps in the past, but i wouldn't be surprised if it is something they added.

So, the Prologue is/was what? I'm still trying o close 3 courses on the S series but I don't see much cars or rally cars out there.

plenty. prologue looks significantly better- it is basically reference material for the ps3, while forza 3 is the best looking racing game on 360 and drives significantly better, but graphically can't hold a candle to GT5. buttttt, saying that it drives better than a game that is basically 2 years old now isn't really saying much. i have a feeling (and hope!) they have been adjusting the "feel" of the cars based on feedback from everyone. as "whole game" packages they dont really compare, because prologue is like a glorified demo, and it is hard to tell what kinds of things you will be able to do in the full game. GT5 will include rallying though, which forza doesn't, and if the last games are an indication, will include night racing and some wet racing, which forza also doesn't.

WOOO attitude. the GT series has always had gentle, almost dated music during the menu with a solid soundtrack covering several genres for during races, while forza has a bit more modern feel, yet uses similar soothing, ethereal music. the presentation of both games are different, yet both are brilliant in my opinion.

thanks. there is a lot of fanboyism between the two games, but honestly i think they can coexist peacefully, especially since they are for different systems. when someone says forza sucks, its usually because they don't have an xbox, and when someone says GT sucks, it's usually because they don't have a PS3/2. Simple as that.
