    I've had a couple of new Fusions for rentals. They kill everything else in the class, IMO. I'm not surprised it got the COTY, since MT bases it on relevance in the marketplace more than performance or anything else.

        Don't knock it.
        They're really good cars. Fit and finish and quality have been much improved.

        I have a 2007 with the 2.4L 4 cyl and 5spd manual, all black, with the aforementioned big chrome grill. Decent power for this type of car, good gas mileage, very comfortable and capable on trips or around town.

        Drive one before judging.
        For our crowd on here, though, probably better to drive one of the V6 models, but they're only avail. in automatic as far as I know.
