              Depends on the mileage. Anything over 150,000 miles, and I wouldn't spend more than $5,000

              Anyting between 100,000 and 150,000 miles, and I wouldn't spend more than $6,500

              Anything with less than 100,000 miles and I wouldn't spend more than $8,000.

              I like the m3 alot. But to me they aren't worth close to what they sell for. They look very, very nice and I like their interiors......but on paper their performance record reads similar to that of an Acura ITR. For about $8,000, you can buy a well-sorted, low-mileage Nissan Silvia (240w/ clip conversion), which is easily on the same performance, rarity (in this country) and good-looks level as the e30 M3. If I had a choice between the two at $8,000, I would be unable to decide.

                  The price inflation is due to not only the rarity, but also the history. The car has a history of championships. That adds a few g's.

                    lol, if you can find a M3 that runs for $5k, buy it and turn a nice profit ;)

                    Reality is $5k will buy you a parts car. Under $10k will get you a project car in need of work (more then likey a lot of work) $10-15k will get you a higher mileage, but cleaner example requiring less money to keep it going.

                      The $15K rule still applies. For a while there, it was creeping up to almost become the $20K rule, but the prices have pulled back a bit in the last 10-12 months.

                        If I really want to get an m3, but I think I could get tired of an s14 engine. I would almost rather buy a widebody kit, s54 engine and 5 lug swap to my 325i. An M3 body would be ideal.
