Dell or HP laptop?

dell laptops SUCK. I don't know anyone that has had one that didn't break after just a few months of owning it. Their desktops are ok at best.

Dell gets you an N wireless card and 120gb of storage over the HP. Hp gives you a better battery and an actual video card. The Dell does not say whether it comes with 64bit OS or not but the HP does so that is a huge plus for HP. I would personally go for the HP, especially if you want to do any kind of gaming.

i had this same choice some time ago
dell screwed up the order
it took me 3 hours on the phone with someone in bangladesh speaking broken english to get the order straight

i killed the dell order after this and bot a HP which has worked well

My HP so far has been reliable, it is HP Pavillion DV4, got it in August, and so far is has worked well. I think my next laptop might be a Mac, just to try something different. And after that, I might get an Alienware.

Yeah the difference is HP seems to have better RAM (DDR3 vs dells DDR2), and what catches my eye is the 512mb graphics card...plus the HP computer looks pretty sweet. I heard that HP laptops aren't as reliable as Dell, is that true?

Alright guys,

So its time that I retire my 5 year old IBM (lenovo laptop). I have been looking online at costco.com at some good deals and have really narrowed it down between this one HP and Dell. I really cannot make up my mind. The HP seems to offer a little more "umph" with a 512mb graphics card, while the Dell is shared.
