I'm from the northwest, which makes me a hop-head by default. I love IPAs with Pliney the Elder being my current favorite. Beyond IPAs, my favorite all-time beer is Manny's Pale Ale, and when it comes to the darker variety I like Georgetown Brewery's 9lb Porter or Stone's Arrogant Bastard.

Maybe Guinness will experience a shortage and you'll step outside your box and try a beer with some real flavor.
    Amen, brother

You live in Cali and you are saying that!? Man, you guys have some great breweries down there. Take full advantage and quit drinking terrible beers like Guinness.

damn shame, kinda glad i was there earlier this year though. Cool to be able to say I went to the 'original' landmark... they have that property on lease for 9000 years... I give it 2 tops before it's back and better than ever. For those of you who have not been, it is quite a gorgeous building, the inside is hollowed in the trademark shape of a Guinness glass, and at the top, representing the head of the beer, was the 'Gravity bar' - which coincidentally was the highest point in all of Dublin.

a black and tan made with a good dark beer is much better.

I'm not a huge Guinness fan, but I love black & tans and half-masts. Also, Guinness is EXCELLENT for marinating steaks in, and for using in corned beef and cabbage. But when it comes to straight drinking beer, I prefer the stronger, sharper flavor of a good IPA.

what's out of line about saying shitty beer is shitty?
anyone with god taste in beer would, and seems to agree, Guinness has no flavor hence is not good beer.
