Any thoughts? I know BMW had a hand in this. Very interested in your opinions. I really want to know about things I need to look out for.

do you like your truks being in the shop more than on the street.

You want a full size SUV with a v8, Get a Tahoe/Yukon and be done with it.

I cant fault you there, but really the last 2 body styles of the tahoe/yukon are really not that bad on the inside, other than the huge plastic dash. I love the MIL 07 tahoe and looking to buy the little woman a 04-06 here in the next few months.

Your right there, but the financial situation of most board members negates that simple statement. Yes the Range Rovers are awesome and I would like one. The maintenance on them has gotten better over the years. On the other hand we have had between 95 and 06 we have had 4 Tahoe Suburban models. Each family member has had one. My sisters 05 Sub is crap, mostly her fault for just being a soccer mom. My 95 tahoe was first driven by my mother then me then my sisters mother in-law. So approx 15 years later the 95 is stroooong, no major breaks or anything. Same for the 04 and 08. The Rangie is going to nickel and dime your ass like you will not believe. Hope on some forums and just read. Stupid electrical issues are big. Now if you can get a good one that has all records from someone you know that is not off loading it go for it. Just have a time span for which you want to own it.

I don't know a whole lot about the rovers, but hear they are in the shop a lot (as mrsleeve said) and are expensive to maintain.

I have owned many GM rigs. I have a 94 sub now with 160k and only minor repairs needed. As I have been looking for a 02 05 Denali I have run across other rigs. I can buy a 04 Denali XL with 80k for 14k or a 04 Range Rover with 89k for 15k. I have found cheaper on both counts but with high miles or damage. I will keep looking driving and reading. Thanks for your input.

I'd go for a Chevy Tahoe / GMC Yukon instead.

I really love the looks of the 07+ Tahoe.

The only thing with the 02^ denali is that it has the H.O. 6.0l especialy in a Burb, is very very thirsty. Good power plant dont get me wrong very hard to kill and stupid simple to fix, but much like Big Block fuel economy.

Get a loaded out "LT" Yukon/Tahoe With the 5.3 , way better fuel economy at the loss of 30 or so HP.

I am a GM guy by default I drive a Duramx every day, and the whole family (mine and her's) is in a Yukon/Tahoe, 3/4 ton and up diesel, or Burb's. Other than my mom whos up grading to a GTO soon from a Grand AM. All have had little shit thats to be expected, and moms Grand am's tranny, other wise all are as reliable as the sun rise.

Edit: for the wife huh. I will suggest a LT Z71 tahoe from 03-06. Can be bought right with about 60k on them and there are plenty to choose from. She wants one in Burmuda blue with a tan int, so that what I am looking for.

the e30 will nickel and dime your ass if you let it as well... I still think the Ranger Rover hate is overrated. Or maybe I'm just hoping it is, lol. (Just picked up a white 98 HSE 4.6 a couple of days ago.) I've spoken to a couple of owners and nothing stood out and too drastic as far as maintenance and repairs go. Maybe they just have ones that have been well taken care of.

I have access to my cousin's Worldpac account and can choose between him for the more involved issues or a really cheap shop I know so I'm not worried. I already have a few things lined up for it, some gaskets, belt, and misc.

I've always thought this body style and the one before it was dope. It has 120K, body has absolutely no dings, only body issue is the bumper cover is busted at the left corner. Seems it has a P/S leak, leaks are no surprise though. Paid 2,750...

Not to mention, I can't stand owning a car the whole fkng world around me drives.

I'm in love with Range Rovers. No personal experience with maintenance or reliability though, so I really can't be too helpful. Just think though, there has got to be a reason it depreciated so quickly...

2,750 is well below it's market value, 7 - 8K. Gives me plenty of room to take care of any issues that may arise and the few things I already have lined up.
