For that price I would have snapped it up too. Leaves lots of room for repairs to get to the break even point of just market value, thats a ton of free miles driven in my mind.

Not saying they are all bad, they just tend to be more needy over all then your run of the mill GMT800/900

BMW only had a hand in Land Rover/Range Rover for a year or so before they sold it to Ford.

I really want to put a Duramax diesel and Allison transmission in a HSE.

(Just picked up a white 98 HSE 4.6 a couple of days ago.) I've spoken to a couple of owners and nothing stood out and too drastic as far as maintenance and repairs go. Maybe they just have ones that have been well taken care of.

I have access to my cousin's Worldpac account and can choose between him for the more involved issues or a really cheap shop I know so I'm not worried. I already have a few things lined up for it, some gaskets, belt, and misc.

I've always thought this body style and the one before it was dope. It has 120K, body has absolutely no dings, only body issue is the bumper cover is busted at the left corner. Seems it has a P/S leak, leaks are no surprise though. Paid 2,750...

Not to mention, I can't stand owning a car the whole fkng world around me drives.

I blew a P/S hose in my Disco once. The dealer wanted $65 for a new one so I went to Napa and had one made for $7 with a higher psi rating. There's always more than one way to do things ;)

Good luck with that. The bell housing on a Allison 1000 is so wide that you have to put a 3 inch body lift on a gmt800 burb to get enough clearance to get it to fit in there. have no idea how you would get that combo to fit in a HSE with out major intrusion into the cabin, that and can a rover chassis take all the torque of a even the 1st gen LB7 duramax let alone a newer LBZ or LMM.

Land Rover frames are extremely solid. The weakest link on them overall seems to be their drivetrains. I don't have much experience with the later model Range Rovers though, really any after BMW acquired them then Ford and now Tata.

Enlarging the transmission tunnel isn't that big of a deal and with a vehicle that is body on frame no integrity is lost. I just wouldn't want it to have the interior space of a H1 Hummer lolol! If that's the case then it's definitely not worth the time.

Yeah I know the frames are stout, but 500-650ish Ft/Lbs of torque outta the box will tweek shit.

Yeah as far as the tunnel you might get to work with a combo of body lift and cutting and remaking for the clearance you need. You build one I would be interested in helping and building one for myself

The weakest points would be the welds and there are virtually none on the older ones...the frame components are bolted together. The only thing I would be worried about is making a twizzler out of the driveshaft or turning the differential internals back to iron ore lol!

I'd want the vehicle lower not higher and doesn't even have to be 4WD. It's not for off-road, just a really nice vehicle with TONS of torque to tow a trailer and racecar to the track comfortably. Something you wouldn't see everyday is a grocery getter Rover that sounds like a school bus idling next to you, kinda like a skeleton masturbating in a metal filing cabinet...then the turbo spools.

Well you picked the wrong engine not much rattle to them, need a 12v 6bt or older 7.3 power choke to get that noise.

and I am gonna use that skeleton thing, know a guy whos welding rig rattles so bad you can hardly hear your self think 30 feet away at idle damn archaic 6bt's

Spent 30 minutes looking for it. On second thought, I think I may have sold it.

Back when I was buying/selling cars, I bought one of those RRs (for a family friend) and it had 2 extra wheels (same as the one you have) in the back. I sold it the car and kept the extra wheels, but I think I might have sold them on Craigslist already.
