a plane will not take off if the treadmill is doing the same speed as the plane's engine/propeller will allow it to go. the only reason the plane took off on myth busters is because it was moving faster than the "huge treadmill" under it was going. if it was going in the same speed, the plane wouldnt have moved at all. the propeller doesn't move enough air it's self (assuming that the tread mill is going the same speed the plane should be going) to make lift for the plane, so again you idiots the plane will not lift off of the ground. as bad as i hate to say it, alykzandyr is right.Leave a comment:

Dude, you are turning this thread into the dumb answer thread. Shut the fuck up.There is a bit more to it than that,
First you go though the pre flight check list, if all is good, remove wheel chocks, then check that the prop is clear of any obstructons, if it is, you start engine, after that, check that all doors are sucurely latched, then fasen seat belts, taxi to run way, await permission for take off, when granted, position flaps, to take off position, ( if your plane has them) hold brakes, bring rpm's up, when rpms are at the level there susposed to be for that partticular aircraft, you release brakes, gather speed down runway, after you reach take off speed, pull back on yoke ( or stick) to gain altitude, after you reach your desired sltitude, level off, set flaps to 0, throttle engines back a bit and you flying.Leave a comment:

I'll contribute one of my own. Went out with some friends at a track day. Crossing the street I hear the crosswalk chirping and ask "does this town have a lot of deaf people?" My friend goes "uhuh... [gives me a few seconds to figure out the gaffe then gives up] it's for blind people you idiot".Leave a comment:

2 gems from my girlfriends sister:
One day she calls me up and is like "I'm applying for a bank job online and I don't know the answer to a question. Whats 20% of 100?"
Another day she calls me up and asks me "How long is 60 days?"Leave a comment:

Are you pulling everyone's prick or are you just completely retarded? This has been around long enough that even the biggest morons I know have figured this out by now.First of all the wheels on an air plane are not powered. For a plane to take off, air must be flowing around the wings, (generates lift) And for this to happen, the the entire air plane,( fuselage, wings, all of it, traveling as a whole) must be traveling at its take off speed,( powered by engine(s)) which varies between different planes. If you were to place a plane on a treadmill, the wheels may be spinning at take off speed, but the sence the fuselage/wings are not moving, there isnt sufficient airflow flowing around the wings, so no lift is generated. So, a plane placed on a stationary treadmill, will not take off...everLeave a comment:

Youre wrong. Accept this and then try to open your mind a bit to figure out a way understand it. It is airspeed that creates lift. Not ground speed. The only way a treadmill would slow the plane down is from the very small amount of friction from the bearings in the wheels; this would be extremely insignificant in relation to the amount of thrust the engines on the plane create. The plane would still take off just like normal.Leave a comment:
