deny deny deny. thats what i did, but it does take time. unfortunatly, some people can't afford to do that, only having one ride, they have to take the first offer to get it fixed asap. low ball offers are usually 1-4 offers of $. thats how the insurance companies work, hoping you dont have another ride so you'll settle quickly on the first offer so you dont have to pay for the cost of a rental.

    just bide your time.

get an appraisal. it will help immensely, and it doesn't matter that it's after the fact. I found a guy through my body shop, it cost less than $100. And of course do not accept their offer. What it came down to in my case was arbitration between an independent appraiser and the insurance companies appraiser who decided that my car was worth more than twice the original estimate.

also telling them about maintenance is worthless, but receipts are not. I'm sure the stack of receipts I gave them totalling many thousands helped a lot. I also gave the appraisers a CD with tons of pictures, including some of the work I'd done.

And if they send you a check and you're not satisfied with the amount, DO NOT CASH IT!

that's pretty much accepting the payment.

And never more personable than when you have your dick and nuts stuffed deep into LB Jeffries' cavernous anus, bellowing away like a fat man who was short-changed a meat pattie on their Double Whopper.

Seeing how insurance companies are such specialists in anal rape, I think you two will have a lot to talk about, Blunt.

Best of luck, sorry to hear your E24 got munted.

Speaking of which, why hasn't Jefferies stopped by to turn this into a politcal or moral debate.

Blunt, sorry to hear. I've not had to deal with insurance in a few years, but I've heard the same advice, on this forum and many others, as well as in person, especially from friends who work at body shops.... Be polite, stern, and patient. Don't accept what you don't think is fair...

But you already heard that 15 times already.

From what he told me not many people will side with an insurance company in most legal fights especially if they are dragging ass over a measly few grand. And yes its probably true that those big name insurance companies have amassed quite a legal department. Guess what.... mine too.

I'd say that stands for most insurance companies. So you bought the car back? Good deal. Congrats...
