Also, I would remove the pictures of BMW's taken with a point-and-shoot camera. They're not special, and detract from the marginally better pictures taken for ACR performance, or whoever they were taken from. (Actually, I would use the picture of the chrome wheel and stud kit (upper left on the photos page) throughout your webpage if you could find a way to be classy about it. Cool photo.

Lastly, go dig your paintings out of storage and take pictures of them. Or, at the very least, don't make apologies for yourself. the "I have more but can't get photos of them" statement is a huge turnoff- leave it at "more will be coming shortly" or something.

I know this is early in the production (I hope it is) and there was a few good photos and the painting was interesting, but you need to be a bit more classy before you farm it out as representing you.

here's an ex-gf's photography website. Please don't contact her, but look through her website for a little advice. (completely different themes I understand, but you could learn a lot from the execution.)

ha ha don't worry, I won't contact her!!

To answer a few things, I started the website about 2 days ago, only the pics from SCR Performance were taken with a DSLR camera, I just got it a week ago, the rest of the pics are point-and-shoot, and my plan is to ditch all the point-and-shoot pics and replace w/ DSLR pics as I take them.

Over all, I am a noob at both photography and web-design.

Thanks for the compliment on that chrome wheel pic.

Also thanks for the input, it was really very helpful, and I am glad you were honest.

replies like yours is what I am looking for to make this website much better.

EDIT: the "home" quotes about me are meant to kind of be a play on how Jeremy Clarkson describes the Stig. I'll probably tone them down though! ;)

Edit again: That "orange tree" website looks good.

I'd go with a different font if possible. Very generic looking.

Also, on the Photography page, I'd remove the line "Click on a link below to view album." as it is kind of redundant. It's pretty obvious they are links.

        Otherwise, looking good.

I agree with everything he said, the ex's website is a nice site, needs a few slight tweaks but it' clean and professional.

When you have a little cash I have a few good flash templates I could build a cheap site for you. It won't be a custom design of mine, but it'll be a lot better than what you have. Assuming this is something you want to do professionally either full or part time.

Thanks bro, I am going to see where this leads, see if anything might come of it, and if so, i will have to switch to something more professional, and i'll give you a shout!

My vote goes to making your own smugmug (or similar site) account for now and worrying less about the website and more on producing work that can be sold. Smugmug is cheap, btw.

What he said. There are dozens of plug and play portfolio sites out there. Focus on the content, content is king. If you don't know any HTML it will make focusing on the content that much easier.
