yeah lol this isn't quite oregon, we have enough government subsidies and stipends that we don't have to pay losers and drug addicts to pump gas for us. My favorite thing to do in oregon is to pump gas yourself, they get really pissed. :p
and yeah, I don't think most people even know it's illegal. Unless one of your neighbors calls in on you, there's no way a cop is going to ticket you for it.
Seattle's "light-rail" no parking policy...

k, I would really want to know what the reasoning behind it is. Everytime I am in Chicago I drive up to northern Indiana take the south shore in. $1 for parking, some times free depending where you go, and around $10 round trip. The el train is a little different.Leave a comment:

There main stations have parking. The smallers stops do not. That is how things are on mass transit. In all my trips to Europe there where not huge car parking area's except the main stops such as the airport. I just hope they do not run that thing up into my area.

Wow, can you still pump your own gas in Washington? That sucks. I take it you still wash your car in your driveway, Chris??Leave a comment:

yes but it doesn't matter. the law is basically unenforceable. the cops are too busy dealing with robberies and murders to give a fuck about people washing their cars. at least I hope they are..Leave a comment:

Can you still wash your car but say in the yard where it doesn't drain in to the storm drain. I'm sorry for the such crummy laws you are having to deal with.Leave a comment:

phosphates in the drain water.. except for most car wash soap I've used is phosphate free. and there's no way a little soap from the few people in this state that actually wash their cars compares to all the oil and coolant that leaks onto the ground from the POS jalopies running around here. People can't afford to fix oil leaks when they're being taxed to death can can't get jobs because the state runs businesses out of town :pLeave a comment:

A commuter transport system with no place for the commuters to park.
Sounds brilliant.Leave a comment:

On a positive note I rode the light rail a few months back from south Seattle to west lake center and it was a very pleasant experience. Smooth and didn't have a lot of homeless people like buses do due to increased cost. I didn't have to worry about spending 20+ bucks on a parking garage for the afternoon.
I do say the no parking near the train stations is STUPID. That was its major shortfall. We had to be dropped off and picked up at a strip mall by the station. If I lived close to it and worked downtown I could see walking to the stations a good option to driving tho.Leave a comment:
