That poll was put up there to silence 2 people: you, and bimmer_E30. Obviously, it hasn't worked too well. Oh, and by the way, weaksauce attempt. I posted that poll in a brand neutral forum for a reason. To make a point using an unbiased group of people. By trying to turn it into a biased poll, you are merely adding rationality and legitimacy to my claim. Nice last-ditch effort. Congradulations.

There are plenty of better ways to test an LSD's function! Straight line standing start acceleration is one VERY small aspect.

The whole point of my argument is (and this is getting really diluted here) that with a more aggressive limited slip diff you can get the power down earlier. The stock unit in your Zed is built for comfort, not performance. A tighter LSD would drop seconds per-lap off times at a race track.

Actually, speaking of Cadillacs, the new Cadillac CTS is a pretty impressive car IMO. I guess not all of us drive Skyline GTRs, Lotus Elises, M3s, etc. like everyone over in Australia. Oh well.
The point has gone over your head. What it boils down to is that we are harsher critics than you guys, it seems.

    WTF
    Why such anger and hatred?

I am merely trying to engage your paradigm in a constructive and rhetorical debate.

But when you make such remarks.....I'm starting to doubt you've ever driven a 300ZX TT. Let alone any of the other cars you mentioned a few posts up.
That was aimed at Xxwillxx, not you.

250k M20 eh? Where'd you pull that from, sparkles?

We had Monaros out here for a few years before we sent them over there with the shithouse modifications (smaller fuel tank, stupidly small boot space, ugly bonnet scoops, etc) and I've driven plenty of them - was kinda part of my job of reviewing cars for a magazine - and they handle OK but still suffer from a rear-suspension that dates from a 1970s Opel!

I know the R230 and R200 Nissan diffs are just about unbreakable - this is one reason I'm putting one in my E30.

Maybe too many of you guys drive Cadillacs or something because we were falling over ourselves laughing when we heard that Americans apparently thought the new-age GTO handled "amazingly well".

Must be because it has numb, overassisted steering, a sloppy, topheavy chassis, and a weak, shitty LSD. ;)

I didn't mean to kick off such a huge debate. I know the e34 M5 is a sweet car. I know there's no point comparing the two.

Honestly, I got my panties in a twist when bimmer_E30 said that the Z32 was ugly in comparison to the e34, and proceeded to suggest that I smoke crack if I think otherwise. That pissed me off because the attractive body of the Z32 is widely recognized as being one of it's redeeming qualities.

Now, somehow that small tiff has turned into a "let's point out the Z32's shortcomings" discussion. I know it's portly, I know it's hard to work on, I know it sucks in bad weather. But it also has a strong and powerful drivetrain, attractive body, great handling characteristics.

Of the above cars, the only ones that are on par with or better than the Z32 in terms of handling are the Mk4 Supras, M3s and Skylines. Maybe the Z you drove was an N/A? Maybe it was a twin turbo, but badly abused and neglected?

I like the look of a small kidney E34, with that said I don't think they are "Beautiful" cars. I like European boxy styling and I think the E34 is great looking. I can understand that to joe blow, it looks like every other BMW, but that is the point. the M5 was always supposed to be a sleeper. Then the E60 came, looks aside it is NO sleeper. I do have a thing for Z32's but I really wouldn't call them "Beautiful" either, they actually look quite funky. More people will say the Z32 over the E34 though because of the 2 door to 4 door thing. 4 door cars aren't really meant to be lookers, 2 door sports cars are supposed to be lookers, pretty or not they grab attention. People will be inclined to say that they like the attention grabber car more, pretty or not, because they look at it more, not the more boring 4 door sedan. Oh, and no one really listens to bimmer_E30 anymore anyway.
