You can throw dollars at these Ruck's just like anything else. There are guys on the Ruckus forum that have over 10 K into these scoots. Thats a bit excessive in my book , but there out there. All depends on how many aftermarket parts one wants to throw on.

u can get used ruckus for like 1-2k and do the gy6 swap or buy a clean modded ruckus with the swap already for like 3-5k

I bought one with an engine swap. 180 cc Yamaha Riva engine was swapped into it. Smoked the stock 50 cc dog of an engine! I could only run thin tires on it so I cut the engine hanger and mount off and am in the process of swapping in a GY6 150 cc motor. If you are unfamilar with the GY6 motor it is a Chinese clone of a Honda designed 150 cc engine and they are litterally in every 150 cc Chinese scooter that is built.
The GY6 engine swap is all the rage as it allows one the option of running the standard width rear tire or going with a "fatty" rear rim and tire combo. Thats the direction I have chosen. So the 180 cc Riva engine could be sold with all related parts if one of you guys wanted to swap it in. Im slowly piecing my Ruckus back together after a full tear down.
Purchased a donor scooter for 300.00 locally and chucked everything except the engine and wiring harness so that I could do the swap.
Here is a link to the 180 cc engine: http://i941.photobucket.com/albums/a...e/180cc001.jpg

^ruckophile lulz.
But yea, if they take less great. But if there are 5 in your country and you want one, thats not a ridiculous price. if the engine takes a shit on you, you take a shit on it. (then replace with 150cc GY6). The engine should be good till like 15k, alot on a scooter.
