I gotta admit, though, it doesn't look near as cool.
Anyway, the bars in my pics are up for sale if someone has a decent offer. They'll need some new paint though.
Maybe. I love the riding postion on e30 fiends. Not going to be comfy for 2 hour rides, but its like a little cafe racer.

I picked one of these up for myself last night and its a ton of fun. Quick enough to be fun but slow enough for me not to be guaranteed to kill myself. Its an 07 with 300 mi in like new condition.
I haven't gotten myself a helmet yet. What type do you all use? From looking around online Im liking the retro styles like the Zox Jazz.

.
But no really, I ride motorcycles and have owned quite a few and even rode some scooters (rented). Realistically though, I live 16 miles from town (and 20 from my work). Would this even work riding back roads? How fast can I really expect a 49cc scooter to propel my 240lb fat ass? I'd like to get one and ride it around town, but getting to town, or riding home (especially at night) has kept from exploring this possibility any further.
Anyone?1985 RX7 - Badassery Exemplified.

So whats the top speed for the heavier guys? The little 49cc Chinese unit I rode last year was severely affected by rider weight though it got me and my wife around without a problem, top speed was just quite bad (30mph compared to 40 for myself, or 45+ for my 155lb friend).1985 RX7 - Badassery Exemplified.

It seems like the most cost effective way to get the speed is through a swap though.

After toying around today, it looks like I can't get past 37-38 mph without going to an airstrip or something. I'm 175 lbs, so I thought I might be able to break 40 mph. I'm going to try pumping up the tires a little more and see if that helps. If not, I might look into tuning the carb. I won't do much though, if I wanted something faster I would have bought a MadAss or a 150cc scooter.
The scooter does great on 25 mph streets. It can keep up with traffic on 35 mph streets, but you won't be passing anyone. You pretty much drive it on full open throttle 100 percent of the time no matter what you are doing.

What are your plans, Blunt? Engine swap?
Originally posted by blunt View Postyes same guy. Hes a bad influence too. Im just going to lower the seat on this one and give it to my wife. Im shopping for another right now for me which Ill mod over the winter. Im thinking motor swap and the normal stuff but i dont want to interfere with my car build. Ill get the scooter and just collect parts. i need to get my car done before it gets cold

I've seen 3 Ruckuses on CL in the past month and each one had several people looking to buy it. I was actually able to put it in my Honda Fit on the way home.

These things are so much fun, I bought another one just for commuting. My commute is 24 miles each way to work and I take all back roads. Its an absolute blast and I actually look forward to going to work just so I can ride not to mention the monies I'm saving in gas. My red ruckus has a Yosh pipe on it and its pretty loud. I feel bad tooling through neighborhoods at 6am so I'm leaving the black ruckus stock when it comes to exhaust. I have purchased a few things for it that should be here next week...
I bought a Metropolitan for my gf too...

Still sorta tempted on one of these... but freeway commute = 10-15 minutes on the r6. (Not speeding, just use of the HOV Lane.) If I didn't use so many freeways I'd seriously consider one.
