Alpine White I vs Alpine White II

I tried doing a search and couldnt find what I wanted. Is one brighter or more "white" than the other? I read about II and III with AWIII having some metallic on it but I'm not sure if that applies to e30's.

I is more yellow than II. It's also single-stage while II has a clearcoat.

thanks kronus that's what i suspected because when I had my mirrors resprayed it didn't come out quite "bright" as the body of the car. Is there a link or does anyone know which years and models came with AWI and which came with AWII? Mine is an 89 and came with AWII

Pre-facelift came with AWI, post-facelift came with AWII. If a white e30 has large tails (88+, 92+ for convertibles), the color is AWII, otherwise AWI.

My M3 is Alpine White I, but it has a clear coat. I've always suspected that it had been resprayed.

My Alpine I respray quart came through single-stage, but it was not OEM paint. Matched perfectly though.
