None of your business... ;-)
Seriously, Sam, a state where police takes the right to interrogate people with no valid suspicion of wrong doing is called a police state. In a free country, the police must arrest you and charge you of a crime to have the right to interrogate you. Simple. If they don't charge you, then they have absolutely no right to detain you or expect answers... ;-)

Now you're just causing shit. They're doing their job, it's not like they're going to follow you or ruin it for you. Answer the simple questions and be on your way. If someone did get through and do something because they let them through not to be a bother, you would blame them.I flew down to San Diego with my kids last week and drove to Phoenix in the rental car. I had to stop at a Border Patrol checkpoint on I-8 and the guy asked me where I was going "none of your business".
He asked me where I was coming from.. "none of your business".
Are those your children? "Do they look like it?".
I got pulled over for further questioning (interogation) and they even started to question (interogate) my kids.
This latest incident will surely make domestic checkpoints more prevelent.Leave a comment:

Oh, Oh Oh oh..... I just came up with another great Conspiracy Theory, all on my own.
The US Govt. purposely awaited dealing with the Toyota recall (I had customers with issues related to stuck accelerators 3+ years ago) until they had a vested interest in the US Auto Manufacturer's pocketbooks.
Bring down the #1 automaker in the world, then... PROFIT!!!!
Close.......................... BUSH DID IT!!!!!Leave a comment:

I was really amazed that he was able to see the Pentagon. I flew around DC for 2 years and it's really hard to find anything around there, even when you know where to look.
It's also interesting that he plane made a right-hand turn. He probably would have been in the left seat. Turning right from the left seat makes it much easier to lose your bearings.
It was, unfortunately, a difficult task well executed.Leave a comment:

Interesting info if factual.Interesting stuff.
So....anyone see the recent NTSB release of FDR info from AA77? Pilot friend was talking about it. FDR date from the black box supposedly found at the Pentagon shows the plane on a course that makes hitting the light poles impossible, and get this: the cockpit door was never opened from the time the engines started until the crash. Kinda hard to "herd the pilots and pax to the back of the plane" as someone supposedly reported via on-board cell phone, without opening that door, I would think. Not to mention according to my friend, that would totally fuck up the CG of the plane thereby changing the flight characteristics. But ol' Hani still managed to stuff a 80 ft tall plane into a 40ft hole, while flying into ground effect at 400+mph with a plane that didn't handle right. The same Hani who was denied rental on a Cessna 172 because the FI wasn't sure he could land it by himself....
Every pilot I know, to a man, doesn't believe that a guy unfamiliar with a 757 could pull off a 3 minute long 330 degree turn from 7000ft down to 2200ft-he was descending at better than 2500 fpm dropping almost 5000 feet only gaining 30 knots.
But hey, the Gub'mint said that's what happened and I will do my patriotic duty to believe it! :borg:Leave a comment:

well, it's one way to pay taxes... I think only a couple of hundred years ago this would be called patriotism.Leave a comment:

The Obamastration used Joe Stack as a Manchurian Candidate to rally the Ultra-Right Wing Conspiratists so they can be identified and cataloged for future removal.

Agreed on both counts. Considering how much shit talking some people do on here about Canada, I don't blame the guy for defending himself. He who lives in a glass house should not throw stones.I think it's weird that people get so pissed off at Lee for criticizing the US (even in jest as in this thread), and tell that since he doesn't live here, he has no business making comments.
I don't know about you guys, but I criticize other countries all the time (European nanny-states, fascist/sexist nations in the middle east, power-hungry religious zealots in Africa, etc, etc.)
If you know of a utopia, point me in its direction.
Just so my post is relavent within this thread, the dude in the plane is a wack-job. Way to go all Ted Kaczynfhfudjbcbdski, guy. Nice way to get people on the side of your cause.
But yeah this dudes a certified wacko.Leave a comment:

IRS = Government(us) = America. If he thought the consequences wouldn't be felt in the rest of the country...I'm surprised something like this hasn't happened sooner. Terrorist? Nope. This was not designed to instill terror. There's no threat to America. Just a guy that pushed too far.
The banks and collection agencies like the IRS could buy themselves a LOT of goodwill by working WITH people not against them during this recession.Leave a comment:

I think we live in a pretty damn good place, but no heterogeneous society is without fault in the eyes of every member.
