Well they can't exactly lose at the ones they do give two shits about, considering their football and baseball leagues are practically 100% American to begin with.

The only exception being baseball, which was an Olympic sport for a while. Cuba won more than half of the gold medals there.

I didn't see it as such. Canada had tons of oppurtunities and just couldn't convert. Miller was lights out for the Americans. I also think the US having a squad of young kids who really don't know any better than just to go out and have fun helped.

Yeah I suppose. I was thinking more of Brodeur, maybe he just had an off game. It seemed like he kind of gave up. I did love the wild goal celebrations for Team USA though, it's like each goal was a surprise for them. It was refreshing.

That being said, I don't think they should have NHL players in the olympics. They should go back to having just college kids like the old days. The game was intense, but I don't think the desperation was quite there.

Yes, it was only the prelims. And Canada probably will still win gold (or Russia). But it was a great game and Canada is heavily favored, to say the least. The whole arena was in red.

The U.S. is one of the underdogs in these olympics (along with Slovakia and the Czech Republic) and it was good to see them win.
