Yup, Japanese companies can make cars in Japan and ship them over here and they sell for about the same amount as many of our American cars. Yet they are far superior in quality.
Toyota is being raked over the coals yet American car manufacturers have had over 100 recalls in the last 2 years.
Many Japanese cars are being made in the states.
Neither Toyota or Honda hire union workers (at least in Japan).

The new Fusion won car of the year. Those arn't given out lightly.
The new SHO is badass. heavy yes, but thats what its customers want, and a twin turbo direct injection v6? hell yea!
The new Malibu is a attractive vehicle that i would consider with accords and camrys.

Yes the big 3 are still paying the price for turning out the shit of the mid 70's - early 90's. They made the crap partiality due to the govt sticking its nose in. But mostly because they owned the market and could do what they wanted there was not much choice to the buying public. SO thats why you have people that are as fiercely loyal to the imports, as any Ford truck guy. Dad always had a honda so I do too kinda thing. things are a changen, the Jap makes are now where the big 3 were 30 years ago. the roles are reversing, and toyota's issues of late are the proof in the pudding

FORD and GM have improved quality 100 fold in the last 15 years as have the begun to build shit that people want again. People in America still want SUV's and trucks, its the culture, we are are the ones who build the best trucks (dont try and tell my Nissan and Yotas are just as good).
