Nice but wow 8 hours with 3 ppl. I did it all myself not knowing anything and only took my 8 hours haha. I bet now I can knock it out in 3. I did the intake gasket, cleaned carbon built up on the head and pistons. Its a faily easy job as long as you got all the tools to your use.
I wish i would have painted the intake and valve cover since it was off.
pics of mine lol , very dirty job haha

First off, we did it with two people (there were a few instances when a third came and helped, but the majority was done by two). Secondly, if you can knock that job out in three hours, you should think about becoming a mechanic, as I was quoted about six hours by multiple mechanics... We didn't have the right tools, and had to improvise a lot... I know its not as fast as we could have done, but its a helluva lot cheaper than having it done, which was my main concern. Also, There may be differences with the e than the i... I'm not sure though. But congrats to you.sigpicComment

I wanted to be a Mechanic , ive worked on cars as a job the past 3 years, but I never did anything big like that. I saved lots of money doing the job myself ( only spent 150 in all , tools, parts and etc..)
And I dont think when doing a HG theres any differences in the 'E' and 'I'

I'm starting to get paid jobs for small stuff on other peoples cars, like rotors, brakes, etc. but I definitely feel most comfortable with an e30. I heard there was some difference with the timing belt procedure, but that was second hand as well, so I wouldn't bet any money on either of those assumptions. I kind of wanted to become a mechanic, but the never ending dirty work would get annoying fast... Plus working on one's own car is way different than working on someone elses. Thanks lol , I didnt mean to act as if I was talking shit.

Alright, I wasn't sure because a few other people asked what the software was (but not where I got it)... Hope that helps.
BTW, this is horrible quality compared to the original version, in case any of you were thinking of purchasing the same program, but worried about how good of a job it does. Its great.sigpicComment

Awesome! This inspired me, I wish I had this last week when we stripped a 1972 BMW 2002. The video would have been much cooler than the few camera shots I got to take while I wasn't busy taking shit apart. What kind of camera did you use? Was it a still or video camera? Does the camera need to be connected to a Mac while the software is in operation?

I actually just used the iSight built-in camera (taking still photos)... I'm assuming there are some camera's you could do some sort of time lapse with though (probably all DSLR's... not sure though)Awesome! I just ordered from my independent shop that I've gone to for years. My friend ordered a kit from ebay, and he hasn't said anything bad about it yet. Its a lot cheaper (150), and includes everything you need plus a timing belt/tensioner. You may also want to do a H2O pump if you haven't done one ever, since its right there.sigpicComment
