Ummm, hitch weight is fine. We've towed all kinds of cars on a dual axle Trailer World aluminum trailer. Everything from Rancheros to 911s. Usually, we're pulling dad's TR3 vintage car. We have trailer brakes, and we haven't had any problems. We're always under the 5,000 lb. limit, anyway.

    Why all the Ridgeline hate?

My In-laws have a Ridgeline, I'm with Sleeve on the its not a truck thing but I wouldn't hesitate to tow small cars with it at all. This is just with a dolly, our duel axle is not light weight by any means so I would never even attempt that. Gas mileage goes to piss and braking definitely needs to be done earlier but the same goes when towing with my Trailblazer. It has even seen the occasional logging road when my father in law's company needs parts and can't spare a crew member to leave (never all the way up to the top of the site, no way in hell it would make that).

My personal opinion, though, is that I hate driving it. Just my opinion, my mother in law loves it so oh well. I'm gonna mention the skidplate to them, they actually do need one for the roads it sometimes has to take.

Ridgeline is a truck made for sissy men and women, what kind of mileage do you get with that thing? Both my brother and dad get 20 mpg with a v8 silverado that hauls more stuff, stores more stuff, and is bigger. Plus it doesn't have that gay ass plastic. People who get terrible gas mileage with any truck newer than 2006 obviously floor it everywhere.

So your ridgeline only gets 20-22mpg empty and only can haul 5k lbs. wow I get 18-19 empty on the highway and can haul up to 21k lbs if the trailer is configured correctly. Mine rides nice and is plesant to have a conversation in while running.

the only reason a ridgeline can even move under its own power with a full load on it, is because of the 4.50:1 gear sets. They make up for the lack or power to do the job with gearing.

Also none of those are really trucks, they are cars that have a open air cargo area bigger tires and and the option of selectable 4wd.

Tom: you described my truck, thank you. Ummm I hope you dont encounter the D.O.T when pulling a "race car" unless its a go cart with mommies car. as depending on your wagon's set up you are way over loaded with hitch weight, and prolly really close to the GCVW in general. The D.O.T dose not take that shit lightly either, thats a ass raping ticket too.

You dont have nearly enough brake for my liking for towing. I have pulled lots of shit that was way too heavy and I dont like it. I once drug a E30 with a Colorado for 300 miles, its not a experience I care to repeat

Are you saying Ridgelines don't deserve a skidplate?

lol nope, not at all, if some one wants to put one on, then you will be there to make them and sell them and make money. I suggest you go over the the ridge line forums and post up pics and sell them there. The popularity of these things just goes to show that a fool and his money will soon be parted. I would bet you would clean up over there with a quality piece of kit like that

All I am saying is that its a minivan that has been bastardized, into a shitty suv.
