Christopher's father was 10 feet behind him and reaching for his camera when his child fired. The boy was briefly conscious but died at a hospital still wearing the outfit he chose for the event, which he had anticipated for months.
So this would have happened anyway??? I mean the kid's dad was going to be holding a camera, he should have been holding the gun or at least the kid's arms. God people are dumb. This is very sad, but still, that dad is a dumb fucker.

yea, this is old news.
he should not have been shooting the uzi in the first place. uzi's have a high rate of climb and there is no way a child could have controled it properly......but it was under his father's supervision and the father should have either been helping him control it or just told him no.
way to pass the buck! tragic yes, the club's at fault, no way.
club is at fault. they should have never given their gun to that kid. their gun, their club, their responsibility. does not matter what the dad said was ok.
that's my
they should have covered their asses.

I'm confused,
I remember going to gun range events in New England as a kid and there were NEVER any full auto firearms WTF! I wish I was a kid again!
The bottom line is; The kids dad should be castrated. I'm sure he felt like total shit and his wife wanted someone to blame sooo... LAWSUIT!
I used to shoot at that club it's one town over from me. Shame what happened but in all honesty it was the parents responsibility for allowing their son to attend with them and participate.
The problem is that the event organizers were ALSO grossly negligent. Even though responsibility should fall to the father, they opened themselves WIDE to this sort of suit by a) not having certified instructors, and b) allowing minors to hand out machine guns.
That kind of stupidity will get you killed in court. Unfortunately, both sides were idiots and as a result, a kid got killed.
