^ Solid advice. Im super paranoid about lenses but always just use a lens hood, and replacing the lens cap when i can.

I have a Rebel XSi and 18-55 lens. I want to get a low light lens.

18-135 nikkor lens. i forget the aperture rating. it came with the camera as a kit.
Some el cheapo tripod that was free when i bought the camera
I have a UV filter on my lens all the time and a circular polarizer for when it's needed.

I want a speed light and some other lenses. a 50mm prime comes to mind.
