I'm a member of that forum..lots of good stuff in there.

I noticed that the LE's have a little too much "zip" in them for shots under 150. I've taken two deer with that round under 100 yards and felt that the bullet didn't expand enough.

On the other hand this past year I used the Remington CL's in 170 and had a clean pass through. It broke BOTH shoulders clipped the top of the heart and punctured both lungs. The buck ran about 10 yards and fell over.

I started collecting my brass to begin reloading, a buddy and I are going halves on a nice press.

      He has a .30-06 as well as a .44, .357 , 9mm

ive got .45 acp, .30-06 and 12 gauge

the .45 sees the most action, about 200 rounds a week at my local pistol range

the ammo is supposed to give you greater range and accuracy.

like was stated before, hand gun ammo is not really that much cheaper right now. obama panic drove the prices up and although guns themselves have come back down to a reasonable price level, ammo has stayed abnormally high. rifle has not changed much except for .223.

        have you looked into reloading?
i have dies for everything i own so if i have time i will load up a bunch of bullest and play with the powder, seating depth, etc to try to dial in bullets for that gun.
        just a thought.

Greg, do you have a die set for .223?

Has anybody actually used the LeverEVOLUTION ammo and seen a noticeable difference? I haven't had a reason to run it through my winny yet but from what I've read its more of a placebo than anything else.

I've used them quite a bit. But to prove it yourself, benchrest your rifle at 100yds with remington core-lokts and then without adjusting your sights, put some LE rounds through. My XLR shoots the LE rounds about 1.5" high at 100 and that lack of drop is more pronounced at 150.

Read up on the marlin forums, lots of info there.

wouldnt the lack of drop be a benefit? As in a flatter trajectory?

or are they tracing higher than line of sight?
