Wow, full of fail.OK. I'll play- who granted these "rights"? Who enforces them? What happens to people who don't uphold them? Why does a fetus have rights? I'm not asking rhetorically-I really want to know why you believe that the right to life begins at conception.
Selfish? How so? Were I in charge of the World, abortion would be cheap, safe, and unbelievably rare. But as we, especially in America, devolve into a relatively uneducated society full of misconceptions and outright disinformation about sex propagated by various religions, we will see more unwanted pregnancies and hence, more unwanted children. Who will care for them? The people who demand these children be born, but who protest against spending tax money help to clothe and house and feed these children are the selfish ones. Same goes for the ones that will happily pay for new jails to be built, but protest when they are asked to vote for a school tax levy.
1) The world, and the US, has never been more open about what sex is and what sex does. The attitude that teenage sex is OK, or that casual sex is not potentially harmful, are the things that cause the damage. There's never been more peer pressure out there today in the schools to get laid. Girls learn to give blow jobs before they learn to drive. It's not all cool and OK. It's damaging and hurtful. It takes lots of people a long time to get over that kind of thing. So, just saying that religious propaganda blinds us to what sex does is so fucking ignorant that it defies belief.
2) So your argument is that it's OK to kill children because all the selfish rich people out there are unwilling to pay for the raising of that child when that child isn't their own. That's good logic.
3) The parents who produce unwanted children are often the result of my argument 1 above. Get that problem under better control and the resultant problems go way down.
4) Why is the answer always to raise them using tax dollars? Why does the answer have to be the government? They have a family. Sure, the family has to make sacrifices, that's a given, but it's still their responsibility to care for the child. They should WANT to do it, even if they didn't plan to do it.
5) Abortion is simply not the answer to these problems. It's a cause of the problems to a certain extent and it generally causes more harm and more damage than it solves.
I understand that you are not in favor of abortion, or you wouldn't have said "incredibly rare". You're perspective on how it all works though, deserves a bit of examination.
Society grants those rights. Some would say that the true inalienable right come from God. There are things that society deems as wrong, immoral. Killing is one of those things. Stealing is one of those things.
Life does begin at conception. It's a scientific fact and not some religious mumbojumbo. When do you define that fetus as "human" could be argued. At what point does it go from a coherent group of living cells to human? When does it get it's soul, its spark of sentience, its self awareness? The answer is, nobody knows. What we do know is that life starts on conception. So, the only logical and scientific answer to that question is, life starts at conception and it is human. You do an abortion, you are knowingly killing a human child. If you are OK with that, then I suppose that's your business, but that doesn't make it right. (and guess what, I'm not religious. I have never belonged to a church and never went to church services. I come to my conclusion via logic)Leave a comment:

So all Priests are rapists?
And they have a "right" to rape kids as you claim?
Either you are stupid, or you are dumb.
Or both.Leave a comment:

e30 Cabrio. Either you are stupid. Or you've been raped by a priest.
Wisconsin priest raped 200 kids. "Confessed" it, yet remains protected by the Vatican. Not the first case. Not the last.
There's a very long history of priest being moved from a parish to another after abusing childs, with the Vatican in full knowledge.

And another similar story in Ireland.

The Catholic Church is a terrible institution with some good people. As are most things.Leave a comment:

A century ago, women had kids at 15 and died at 35. That was the natural life cycle. It followed the hormonal progression. Now, there is a dephasing between the hormonal cycle and the society with people living twice as long. Who's to blame? So, no wonder women get abortions at 16 as they don't fit anymore... The Catholic church asking people not to obey their hormones is a joke. Priest have the right to rape kids though...See bolded text above.
That's exactly what he said.
Oh, wait - he said "kids" not "little kids"
My bad.Leave a comment:

This coming from someone who claims that priests have the right to rape little kids.
Like I said, your idiocy never fails to amaze.
Perhaps you were raped by a priest when you were a kid?
Did you like it?
Did you swallow his load?
Is that why you're so fucked up now?Leave a comment:
