And granted im still in hs, but wouldnt this bill mean that MY generation is going to have to pay the majority of it and be there when it fails? Since it doesn't begin for 4 years? And isnt canada trying to eliminate their nationalized healthcare?

Well your going to start paying for it this year and by 2013 or 2015 you will either have to get it though the Government or one of those premium health insurance plans. If you don't the Government will start taking it out of your taxes before you receive your paycheck.

This is how it will help you:
You are forced to buy health insurance through an "exchange" of approved programs. It's expensive.
If you work, you pay it all.
If you don't work, the government will pay for it.
You drop the insurance because it is too expensive because it is mandated to cover everything from the hiccups to cancer.
You pay the fine because it is less than the insurance.
More people do this because its cheaper to pay the fine, therefore the insurance rates keep going up.
You get sick, you buy the insurance because they can't block you for preexisting conditions. You get healthy after costing $100,000.
You drop the insurance again because the fine is cheaper.

You see, it's very helpful.
