The Mexicans did it before you silly fuckers. EVERY latino grocery store here has Pepsi, Coke, and Mountain Dew in glass bottles that's made down there with real sugar. Real Mtn. Dew is (what I can only imagine) like heroin. I'll drink half a bottle and feel like I'm going to just evaporate in a cloud of happiness and rain goodness onto the sidewalk.

Well, I am not 18 anymore and unlike the OP, I really don't care what people think of me, my neighbour or the country I currently live in. I've lived in enough countries to understand that perception is not everything.

Anyway, Canada gave you Peter North, Neil Young, John Candy, Glen Campbell, Pamella Anderson, Massive Brakes, Louisiana, New England, Paul Anka, the best sensimilla on earth and the all mighty poutine. Consider yourself lucky... ;-)

I'm not 18, and I have lived (2+ years) in 5 different countries including the US and typically don't give a shit what people think about me.

There is a lot of joking in the states about Canada, and it really it took me awhile to come to appreciate my country.

When the two countries talk about each other its usally negative (on both sides). I don't hate the US infact there are a lot of good things about living there.

I always got the feeling that people in the US felt that Canada was boring. In the sense of making international news I would say yes but that may be a good thing. We are a pretty stable country, but we do like to party. I have found it a lot more relaxed when it comes to drinking, pot, lawsuits, and pre marital sex. Just a whole lot less police, lawyers, and religious zelots, but way more taxes and yea we have our assholes too ^.

Another thing I have found is that Canada is fairly homogenous. Alberta may be the most conservative province, and BC the most liberal. Quebec is obviously french, but overall I have found that people hold very similar values. We like to think we are different but really we are all the same. Also there is a lot of immigrants in Canada and really there isn't a typical Canadian identity or people beating I am a true Canadian get the fuck out drum.

In the states I felt that the NE, the south, the midwest, and the west coast were very very different places. I also like how Americans stand up for themselves, no matter their viewpoint may be. Not saying Canadians are pussies, far from it, but our politics are very very boring.

Canada is a nation with the largest inferiority complex I've ever seen.

I think on the whole canadian women are thinner and hotter so I guess I agree with nando. I haven't met a douchey canuck yet, so my opinion hasn't been colored like a lot of other people.

Canada is like a loft apartment over a really good party.

Seriously though, most all of the Canadians that I know could easily be mistaken for Americans if it weren't for their accents. Other than their love of hockey, I really don't see a lot of overall differences between the citizens of both countries.
