    sorry I dont have a k bike
but I have a 1985 RT that I hope to get back on the road real soon, waiting on a few parts
while the k bikes ride real nice
I absolutely love the simplicity of the older airheads
yet of course its not stock accept in apperance
made the pass back rest into an easy off
    ahhhhh life is simple, a 85 road bike, a 91 318 vert

And I hate riding with wet nutsacks. Mine turned totally black from the leather die...
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Why not a VFR? Awesome bike IMHO. I like the newer GS's as well, but they are pricey.

+1 BMW riders always wear enduro gear.

I never lked the power delivery of the V four. I much prefer a good inline four.

Here are the bikes I had. At the end, I was doing about 20k miles per summer.

          1982 Honda 500 Ascot (500cc monocylinder)

          1984 Honda 750 Nighthawk S

          1987 Honda 1000 Hurricane

          1990 Honda 1000 CBRF

I would not buy anything other than a Honda or a BMW.
A BMW K100 would simply be a change of pace.

Ive only been stuck in the rain once. I generally look at the weather before I ride.

Lee, my dad has a K100RS, he's replaced the driveshaft at least twice over ~100kmi, apparently it is a common flaw. Other than that it has been a great bike, been across the country several times and never left him stranded.

BMW bike will not offer what you're looking for at 19 unless youre 40 at heart.
