anyone know anything about US customs?

I need to purchase a US customs surety bond for a shipment from China and I havent a clue. Anyone ever done this before on a large scale? I thought Id ask here first. Maybe I need a customs broker? Anyone know?

This company claims to allow you to do it online, I worked for a company called The illuminessence group in the early 80s the owner had a 10,000 bond & brought in containers of BMW parts from Germany.
