Mentioning of Collective Conscience earlier and and our bodies being a shadow caster, does this 4th dimension talk have anything to do with the Jungian theory? The only reason I'm familiar with this is from Tool's song 46 and 2.
Basically, it's believed that there are three levels of human evolution and each has it's form of consciousness. There's the 1st level with 44 chromosomes. These are primitive people's like the aborigines in Australia who do not perceive anything outside of themselves. They only see one large consciousness with no distinguishment between organisms. Then there's the second level with 46 chromosomes. That is us. We are a chaotic dis harmonic consciousness that is basically used as a stepping stone between the first and third levels. The third level is 48 chromosomes. (Or 46 & 2, with 2 being the sex chromosomes x & y). This is the higher level of consciousness. Our destination.
But this is where the Jungian theory comes in. It is believed that you can not reach this third level of evolution without first delving into yourself and basically cleansing your consciousness for the next jump. That's where the Shadow comes in. The shadow is basically everything about that is unseen that you are uncomfortable with or hate. This is also known as the Anima.
The last part of the song sums all of this up...
"See my shadow changing,
Stretching up and over me
Soften this old armor
Hoping I can clear the way
By stepping through my shadow,
Coming out the other side
Step into the shadow
Forty six and two are just ahead of me"

I need to look into this, I never heard about that before but I do know that song, I suppose I just haven't really listened to it.

I think time is actually the 11th. See M-theory...
i'm still skeptical on the M-theory, but i'm keeping an open mind and always on alert for new developments..?
For those of you who are into thinking and the sort...
here's a tryptic work i did back when i was getting my degree in Studio Art, the last object is an attempted 3 dimensional representation of an inverting 4th dimensional cube:
and a Colored Visual Aid to help if your having trouble seeing the inverted fourth dimensional cube's composition:
I would have to agree that we "exist" in the becoming, or 4th dimension, the world is the past which is a shadow (3d) representation of all things governing the disposition and path leading to the "becoming" (as articulated by Aristotle in reference to the individual's precieved point of conscience.)
So basically, the 4th dimension exists, we just can't see it but we know it exists?
actually, by result, the 4th dimension is all that exists. the 3 lower physical dimensions are mere residual reverberations (aka shadows cast from within the becoming by forces expressing dispositions) of the path taken by the becoming which resulted in the currently "manageable" provocations.
Once something has been preceived, it is already in the past and has been reacted to as your leading path has dictated.
this level of thought/conscious leaves no room for recourse and truely gives a new definition to the coined "carpe diem" lifestyle.
I thought the time was understood to be the 4th dimension?
People need to stop thinking of time as an independent force that acts upon things. Time does not metaphysically exist, it is merely a concept. Time is a unit of measurement used to measure change across existents.
Okay, so how does one "see" or conceptualize this 4th dimension?
I don't understand how our reality as it exists can be a shadow of something else. Objects in our world can interact with each other, and exert force on one another. something that a "shadow" cannot do.
Am I to understand that were not so much living our lives as much as we are simply experiencing them and that everything we consciously decide to do is already decided? If so then what is actually happening in this fourth dimension that causes a shadow to behave as it does in this reality? How is it that I can break this pencil in half if its merely a shadow of something greater that exists in another dimension and what is really happening to this pencil when I break it in half?
