    Vibram five fingers shoes

My wife gave me a pair for my birthday.

Anybody else have them? Has the novelty worn off? Are they a mere novelty or are they long-term "would buy again" kind of thing?

I know two people that have these. Great reviews, I was told that they were designed by a doctor and even with as little padding as they have they are very comfortable footwear.

No rock climbing, just running on a treadmill... but she expects me to wear these things on casual Friday and the store etc.

^^^ that's what my wife said. I have foot problems, so this is supposed to be really good for me.

I'm no slave to fashion, but this kinda dorky. What do you guys think? Should I keep them?

My roommate bought a pair last year, I told him he was gay for wearing them for 4 months until he stopped wearing them and I never saw them again. Saw somebody swimming with a pair at the gym a couple weeks ago though. The black pair doesn't look bad if you were like in the woods or something, but wearing a pair of blue and teal and yellow or whatever color my roommate had around campus=so "dorky" as you put it. I use a few more vulgar and derogatory terms to describe them.

Yes, the guy behind them studied how Nigerians run or something like that and came up with these things.

Dude I would die if I tried rock climbing. I suck at that kind of stuff.

She gave me black on black with a little yellow logo on it - totally reminds me of a RipCurl wet suite. Dorky indeed. I couldn't stand drawing so much attention to myself.

I have a pair, wore them for a bit, thought theyd be good for water, but the plain ones are NOT good for water. I wish I had gotten some that have the strap over the top of the foot. Aside from the problems wearing them in the water, they are awesome! One day I may get some of the H2Os.

My friend's really lame roommate got a pair of these a few years ago. He talked about how great they were nonstop, but he's a bullshitter in general. The guy went from flip-flops all day/every day to these things all day/every day. Not active or an athlete in any way either... strictly for chillin'.

Indoor rock climbing is a great work out.

I thought I was in good shape till I did that. FUCK.
