At this mom and pop joint outside Sembach Air Base about a half hour from K-town. The lady that ran the joint was awesome. She didn't speak very much english, but we worked it out, and she maintained all the cars there. The first time I got a rental there (I was there for 6 months), I looked longingly at the E30 (red cabrio, I'll dig up some pics later), and then looked at my wallet. Small engine VW Golf, please. I no shit drove it around the corner, realized it had snow tires on it, it was slow and loud, came back and ponied up the cash for the E30. (It had a MANUAL tranny, too!!)
I can't remember how fast I drove that thing, but I want to say I caught 140 on the way to Paris (downhill, tailwind, bumpdraft) with the top up. hehe. A stock 325i will guzzle gas when you go over 100 for a couple hours straight...
... and the car had a few extra squeaks and rattles on the way back from the Ring, obviously. ;)
edit: those volvo wagons are pretty hot. Do Want.Slicktop City!Comment

the car i learned to drive on was a 240 DL station wagon. burgundy.
it had the tightest turning radius of any car i've ever driven. it could pull a u turn on a standard suburban street, no 3 point needed. very lacking in the power dept. it was also a 4 speed auto.AWD > RWDComment

WORD. I would have to say my e30 is close but never can match the 240's radius. You can pull the craziest U's ever.
here's mine
