Its r3v what did you expect.
and like wise my hose is not a good place to break into. I have my 45 on the night stand w/etra mag, shes got one of the 44mag's w/extra speed loader. and rem 870 loaded sitting in the corner of the closet with #6 in. Someone is leaving in a BAG in that event.
Thats a nice sentiment and really the right thing to do, but they had better have weapon and be intent on harming you. SO he better not be dead in the entry way and your last place of retreat better not be at the other end of the house. ANd if he is dead there there better be a trail of blood. Oh and make sure hes in side and didnt make it out side then its Murder not self defense as well. Oh and dont try to just wound them to get them to stop, Dead men tell no tales, and never ever shoot a man in the back, there is no threat to you when his back is turned so therefor no justifiable self defense there either. I am just trying to let you know the facts about where you live so you are aware of them and dont go to prison if the worst no matter how unlikely does happen
In your state your 1st duty is to retreat yes even in your own home. Only when there is not where left to retreat then you may defend your self. But only if he has a weapon and there is intent to use it. So if hes just out there robbing your shit, and dose not come in the bed room you have no legal recourse to use deadly force as you were in no imitate danger. In most states you cant use deadly force to defend property just your life or your families lives. So if there is some in your house just taking you shit and not venturing near you or your family then you have no reason to shoot them under the law. In IL and WI anyway. In states with castle laws just being in your home uninvited weapon or not is considered a threat and intent to harm is implied, there for deadly force is justified (like where I live)
Are't gun laws wonderful and you wonder why there is so much crime in Il, and roving gangs in Rockford and CHI that terrorize entire section of those cities. Because they can because there is now way for the citizens to legally protect themselves. Just so you get an idea, In my state my castle law protections extend to me any where I have a right to be. The street corner, the local quicky mart, my truck, and of course my home. There is no duty to 1st retreat either.
