You realized that you just contradicted yourself? Engineers may be getting hired into management positions but that means they aren't doing engineering and more than likely they have an engineering degree and an MBA because they were sick of getting shit on by business majors.
*Note that this is coming from an ME... The FE isn't hard, the questions are very basic. However they pretty much cover every topic you covered in your 4 years in college, from chem to fluid dynamics. Personally I thought it was one of the better tests I have taken, as they aren't trying to trick you they are trying to make sure you can apply all of what you were supposed to learn. I didn't study for it and was happy that I didn't because to cover every topic in the test you would have to study for 3 months, but of course if there are a few topics that you know you are hazy on then by all means do some brushing up. Btw, a beer during the lunch break does wonders to regain your sanity after the first 4 hours of the test.
