Currently helping a friend with his Ghia coupe project. It is super easy to work on, but there is a good amount of rust.
I am not trying to be mean...but did you read my reply? I am staying with the SqB and I think the Ghia is too curved for my taste.(lightly putting it, I think it is ugly)

Ok, I had a 68 square for a time. First of all they are the shit, any Type III holds a special place in my heart. First thing to think about is the engine cover is right over the motor so turbo or big webers are not an option unless you want to have an exposed engine in the back of your estate, which for a rat might be cool. Mine had dual Solex's and was slow as fauck, but it was also an automatic(first year, horrible). The suspension changed up front in 69 from the ancient beetle set-up to a macphearson strut type deal. Both are easy to drop, the strut type prob being cheaper and you dont end up with VIP style camber, in the rear, you pretty much have to live with the camber. I bought mine for 300 bucks in a field, threw a battery in it and started it up!
