Carriers don't do tiger cruises? I'm going into the sub force and we still do them.. I think its the Dallas is going to be doing her last one before decom sometime soon (that's what I was told by a guy that just got off there anyway).

But to the OP, congrats on getting your wings. I wanted to be a Navy pilot back when I was in high school, but last minute changed my mind for a career, but here I am 9 years later following my dream of being in the Navy... Just going under the water instead of up in the air.

thanks guys. The video was not me (I flew the old and busted jets with old style gages, not flat-panel displays) but I was doing exactly what he was doing, most likely on the same boat.

I love it so far.. 7 months into a 8 month deployment maybe not so much, but for now it kicks ass.

And jparker- me and some friends rented out the Lexington for our wetting-down ceremony (party the guys that get promoted put on for everyone else+girls). Its a cool carrier.

Congrats! I used to work on E2's and C2's; they were wiring nightmares.....the pilot's gripes were never clear on the VIDSMAFS either. :p

Only thing I ever flew in was a C2 from the carrier back to shore......getting slanged off the deck in one of those loud bastards was a scary, but fun experience I'll never forget!

As far as I know. My best friend's Dad has been a submariner for 15 years or so (more then 10) and his son has never been on a tiger cruise. Before 9/11 I understand they did them all the time.

I went on one as a toddler when my Dad was still on subs (he did his 20 years and got out).
