Well, do you move when they flash you? I've had endless retards doing the speed limit or under up nice mountain roads with clear signs saying SLOWER TRAFFIC USE PULLOUTS. If I'm behind them and miss a pullout, I'll give them a flash but most of the time these retards don't get it and I wind up blasting them with euro high beam goodness. If you're one of those fuckheads who is in no hurry but refuses to move over, well you deserve all the high beams you get and then some.

I drove a big ass truck all through Atlanta for years and rarely got into the situations you guys are talking about. Although when I was driving said truck, I would obey the speed limit for the most part, and let other people act the fool. It must be nice to push peole out of the way who piss you off with out regard to the other drivers on the road and their passengers safety. Brake checks are a different story, but pushing someone is just plain stupid. Especially through a construction zone. The best thing you can do is realize everyone on the road only cares about themselves. Instead of trying to teach them a lesson, why not wait patiently for your chance to pass them? That way no one else is in danger of you freaking out their stupid asses. Sounds like some of you may be as selfish as the people blocking "your" lanes. Attitudes like that in Atlanta get adjusted by cell phones and the dept of public safety. I watched a guy get pulled over by GASP with 3 cars behind him waiting to press charges. I am sure he was tough as nails right until that trooper walked up to his window. Windshields make great barriers from you and the people you think you're better than don't they.
        Grow up.

in my travels I have found Atlanta a great place for speeders. If you are doing speed limit in ATL you will get run over! Most people are respectful and get out of the way of faster traffic, I have found this in NC and VA also. Florida is just hell though, everybody hogs the left lane and likes to drive the same speed as the car next to them, but not beside, just in their blind spot.

I deal with this twice a month in summer when I take the 3.5 hour drive to our 2nd house in St. Augustine and the interstate is 2 lanes most of the way.

The great part about GA is A) no Tractor trailers within the perimeter without papers, and B) no haulers in the left lane PERIOD, even to pass. Gives us more freedom to pass. Atlanta has gotten much worse as far as left lane hogging goes, but with 12 lane highways, all you have to to is be patient, and your chance to pass in one of 11 other lanes will come up.
Don't get me wrong, when I am in the e30 or my Jetta, I drive them. In my 4-runner or a bigger vehicle I tend to slow down. They do not stop, handle, or get me out of trouble anywhere near as easily as my other two cars.
in my e30 the person I pass usually has no clue I have done so until I am long gone. In the 4-runner, there is a chance I would startle them driving aggressively, therefore endangering not only them, but the people around them, which is way too selfish IMHO. i'm not going to ruin someone's Sunday b/c i don't approve of their driving habits.

Delta. I have been 90 in a 4runner (emergency run to the hospital) and it is not a confidence inspiring experience.

in my Denali i generally cruise at about 75-80 (speed limit is 70 in alot places here) and the long wheel base in comfortable at speed in part to uprgraded tires for towing with very stiff sidewalls.

will be at RD ATL in a few weeks :)

Ok so I see most of you have taken this as a, "Hey I want to speed so get the fuck out of my way" kind of thing. But that's only one issue. Another, more important issue, is that if these left lane hoggers aren't paying attention to people behind them, how are Emergency vehicles supposed to get where they need to go in a timely fashion? It makes me SICK when people are completely oblivious to what is going on around them. I see everyday too. :(

As a senior instructor, I can assure you that most drivers have no clue what happens behind them... even on a track. It takes many sessions before they are comfortable enough to look in their rear view mirrors...

That's actually how I notice when a driver is in his comfort zone... Not driving with tunnel vision.
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Dang, this scares me to hear you say that... I mean I know people don't usually rely on any mirrors but I spot check all three mirrors at least once every thirty seconds...

of course I do. But It's like people realize they are going slow when you start to pass them so they speed up. It's situations like these that I will get the high beam for because I'm not about to go 15+mph over the speed limit just to cut someone else off to get over (while already doing 10 over).

In fact, just last night some guy pulls into the left lane behind me and Immediately puts his brights on. Why? A friendly flash would suffice. Chill the fuck out. I guess it's an East Coast thing

try changing that to every 3-5 seconds. every 30 seconds at highway speeds is beyond half a mile. Every 3 seconds is about every 300 feet.

as recommended by a driver's Ed book (years ago), check all 3 mirrors every 10 seconds or so. I often check mine more....not a whole lot else to look at while driving
