    Road Rage and BMWs...

Ok so we all know we're a bunch of dicks when we drive... Well at least they say we are. But is it really this bad? I was traveling down the highway at a speed of about 72mph (60 zone on a freeway in the middle of nowhere at night) in the far left lane.

I came up behind a vehicle which was going about the speed limit, maybe just a hair faster when I decided I was going to just tap my high beams to let them know they're, well, breaking a law... Just as I was I guess. However, that's not the point.

After I did that, my gf was quite irritated by my action and she explained that it is considered "road rage" and I could get a ticket for it.

I have heard that in Europe, yes on the Autobahn, people do this on a regular basis. Now I DO realized I was not on the Autobahn, however, I don't think it should be considered "road rage". Discuss...

Also the reason I bring this up about BMWs is because I was looking up info on the matter and saw this...

    E30 Vert Lol...

In Michigan you will get ticketed for just "cruising" in the left lane. Left lane should strictly be for passing

Yeah, I got to cruise home last night from the picnic and I don't know how many Oregonians and Washingtonians alike just sitting camping in the left lane of I5... I know there are plenty of signs up that state that you are only supposed to use the left lane for passing, but people just don't seem to give a shit. Pisses me off. And then as I pull the illegal move to go around them on the right (illegal in Washington, not in Oregon) 3/4 of the dumb-asses are on their cell phone!

@ OP - How long did you stay behing that car before you decided to flash to headlamps?
5 secondes, 30 secondes, 2 minutes? well if you just caught up and then flashed, then yes, it is not road rage but agressive. If you stayed behind the car, and waited long enough so that the driver should have noticed you, then flashing the headlamps would have been informative. And yes, left lane is strictly for passing.

Next time you get similar comments, drop your girlfriend on the side of the higway. She can walk home... ;-)
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

i flip my highbeams all the time when was someone is being a dick and going 65mph in the left lane all the time. not road raging at all. if you're not passing, you shouldnt be in the left lane. its just common courtesy. tbh, THEY'RE the ones being a dick.

Yes I agree keep right unless passing. If there is some ass hole trying to enforce the law plugging up the left lane (You know a Lane Monitor) then by all means go around them on the right.

I give these iditos ample time to get the fuck over and will give a quick flash of the lights to let them know they are holding up the show. If they dont then its around we go on the right side.

I have to drive across the country frequently, and spend about 3-4 hours stints only stopping for fuel and piss then. So other than in Ohio, West Virgina, Virgina, where I only run a little over the limit, I am hauling ass as I have got places to get and limited amout of time to get there. I see all kinds of shit

For me it's about a 30% chance that they will move to the next lane if flashed with high beams. This being said I'm also in Providence, RI where licenses seem to be given out just for standing in the DMV line. (Which I've also heard is quite horrifying!)

I never knew what it meant, I did notice it, but until my brother did it to me on the way back from an autocross. I noticed it because everyone wanted to GTFO the way when they saw the little green CRX chuggin down the highway.

I thought it was the polite way of saying " Hello sir how are you! Would you please move to the left lane because my car its L33t?"

It's better than the riding your bumper from a foot away that I see ever so constantly.

**EDIT I would love a seethrough board/vinly that could display messages ranging like: USE YOUR BLINKER!,Can I tap that? Don't be a camper move to the side.,Tits or GTFO?

Flash to pass was legal here in VA although I never do it because people drive like they've just escaped the insane asylum on my commute route.

It's legal to pass on the right in Washington state, but it obviously the "right lane" can't be the shoulder.
