Ever heard of an expression "to roll the street up the wheels"?

Well we have an expression "Zwijac asfalt" which literally means that and reflects how fast can a car accelerate.

I always thought it's just a figure of speech. Bun now we have over 30 degrees C in Poland and...

Do people in Poland have a sense of humor? I was just poking fun. That's how we do it i the god damn "we'll kick your ass" USA.

Apparently we don't know how to make roads ;)

And looking at how many people work in road constuction companies - that's sad really.

              This reminds me of something...

Dude, I heard about this shit. Moscow got to 95 degrees F (like 35C) and the streets started melting. What kind of ASSphalt do you guys use over there that melts at those temps?

Yours are melting? Ours are bloating...
This is a highway where people usually do 100mph and trucks around 55-60mph.

a few years ago we had a car on the CELETTE (which is a frame fixture for fixing cars in collision work that weighs at least 500-700 lbs WITHOUT a car on it) and rolled it into the parking lot on the asphalt that was 6 months old. in 1 hour, it sank into the parking lot 1" to where we could not move it.
i had to grab the forklift and lift the car while we chained the fixture to a parts truck to pull it out.

asphalt does not like it when it is 118* out and you put heavy things on it!

The temps on the highways have been around 110°F (42°C) the last week or so.
What happend above is that it's an old connection, where they connected a new asphalt highway and old cement higway. The asphalt one stretched but because cement won't move, it went up. Pretty much the way mountains were created millions of years ago :)
I saw a truck jump over it on TV. On the second pic, you can see skid marks from trucks when the were braking, jumping and landing with the brakes.
